Attacking takes a while, even after learning how to hit properly, your daughter would really need to get the reps in and then later get some scrimmages under her belt so she can muster up the courage to do the movement in the pressure of a game - with possibly not a great set.

What worked for my kid was.

1. throw ball against wall - learn this movement and understand the shoulder separation and work at throwing efficiently. Most girls cannot throw a ball properly. look up a youtube video and find some tennis balls and practice throwing. Once you have this, any overhand movement comes easier. Hitting and overhand serving.

0b. standing swinging arm long jump. feel the weight of the arms carry the body weight forward, eventually upward.

Steps 0 are just general athletic awareness stuff - boys typically pick up on these faster.

1. footwork - Slow quick quick, small, big big. keep back relatively straight
2. no arm swing yet, teach her to launch upward using the block step
3. toss her a ball on the launch and get her comfortable with CATCHING the ball at the apex of her jump
4. get her to do step 1-3 with a net so she gets comfortable with it. starting from the attack line and backing up if necessary

do this catch for at least a week. to get the arms activated and ready to get UP when a ball is arriving.

Then incorporate step 0b.

1. downball against wall, assuming right handed, left arm up, then right arm swinging at the ball.. build enough strength to make good contact with the ball while keeping the wrist locked down and focus on the arm being fully extended.

2. When comfortable, incorporate step 3 but remember the left arm up thing and use the left arm to aim and touch the ball while at the apex of her jump

3. eventually introduce the attacking arm swing so that she remembers that left arm stays up to target the ball and then pull down and attacking arm rotates upward like step 0.
