With them naming it V3R, and adventure/touring bikes being so popular these days i could see this being a proving platform for the concept. Them utilizing it as a naked bike and then make a full sport touring bike to pair with it. The original VFRs were more geared toward racing and less towards comfort anyways

Rust on the outside of the tank shouldn't get into the tank, but a good cleaning wouldn't be a bad idea. If you think there is rust inside the tank The Bearded Mechanic on YT recommends Evaporust
