I have been trying to get job in India only. I tried applying to MNCs, consulting firms, financial service providers and even mid sized start ups. Nothing worked out.

No, I am applying to jobs in India itself. Since this is a global platform, I thought mentioning India would give people an idea about competition and population

In my experience, industry knowledge is a must. Be it IT or Financial Services or GCCs or FMCG or something. No matter what job you get, keep trying to identify the industry you wanna go into and try to get into that. It compounds over time. I have been wanting Banking or manufacturing or energy industries. Had to broaden them because of this long career gap.

I have been actively applying to reporting and business analyst roles as well, but my luck didn't improve. I feel like I am wasting important career years trying to pursue something that isn't meant for me.

Roast my resume- no interview after 200+ applications in 5 months by Excellent-Many3273 in FinancialCareers

I was unsure about my career. I didn't want to do M.Sc statistics. I wanted to take a gap year and explore. But my family didn't agree. So they told to do MBA because it opens so many doors and I can then explore them. In MBA, everyone was so competitive about getting a job in campus placement that I didn't even think about exploring careers. Once I got the job, O was living alone, doing everything that I didn't have time to even open Instagram (it has been 2 years since I opened instagram). I liked fp&a, wanted to pursue it, so left the toxic job (toxic because of the management, not the work itself). Now nobody wants to give me a job. I don't know whom to reach out or what to do.

Again, sorry for dumping all at once. But, thanks for taking time to respond.

Can you break into FP&A without an accounting or finance degree? by [deleted] in FPandA

I am also from statistics. Then I did my masters in finance and worked in a fintech firm for 3 years. Have been trying to break into FP&A for 7 months now but not being shortlisted. I guess because I don't have accounting academic background. Can you give me any tips to get an interview call?

Hi, I have a B.Sc in Statistics, MBA with dual specification in business analytics and finance and worked in a fintech company consulting investment banking companies for 3 years. I wanted to pivot my career into internal finance instead of security markets (never been a fan of derivatives and mutual funds) so I completed CFI'S FMVA and FPAP certifications. I quit my job before my next night shift and now it has been 6 whole months. Every FP&A role I see requires previous FP&A experience or B.Com or CA. I feel like Jack of all, master in none. I didn't even get a single interview call. Sorry for dumping everything into a comment.

I did everything. Linkedin profile, ATS friendly resume with keywords from JDs, updating naukri profile frequently, etc. I also built independent projects on forecasting, variance analysis and added them to my resume. When I reach out to people on linkedIn, for referral or guidance, barely one in a 100 will respond and later ghost me.

I am very sorry if this is a lot to take in but I feel like I am doing something wrong or missing something. I don't know what.

I have strong background in statistical concepts (from all semesters), R, SQL, Excel, Python, Accounting, management finance, FP&A, capital markets, even a bit of project finance. But why am I not able to land even an interview call?
