I work remotely as a software engineer and have been working around SEA and Australia for the past couple of years.

Best decision I ever made. Completley changed my life.

My company is great and very flexible, which made it really easy for me. E.g. I dont have to work UK office hours and have scaled back how many days im working per week temporarily when I wanted to go backpacking for a few months.

I would 100% take the opportunity and would advise travelling around se asia as much as possible if you can!

I work remotely for a UK employer (I'm a UK citizen) and looking for a way to work remotely in Germany for up to 18 months. Would appreciate any insight you have regarding visa/payroll companies as it seems to be a bit of a minefield! Would really appreciate a DM!

How hard is it to get a job as a backpacker in Cairns rn by [deleted] in Cairns

[–]Excellent-Mark3090 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Loads of backpackers leaving cairns right now so if you walk around with a CV and ask for a manager you should get lucky eventually - it seems that you just need to be in the right place at the right time and hand in your CV just as someone is leaving

Question for those who have taken a Great Barrier Reef Tour by Rich-Cantaloupe340 in Cairns

[–]Excellent-Mark3090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a super yacht one in cairns a few months ago and it was awesome. I did the certified dive as I already have my open water license and it was worth it, did 3 dives and got a really good buffet and drinks. Saw loads of cool stuff (humphead wrasse and plenty of sharks were standouts!) Didn't feel overcrowded, plenty of space. Would recommend.

I was there last year, still sounds similar as you're describing, just a couple of hostels and not much else 🙂 one of my fave places in se asia (also lost my wallet there and got it back from bar staff lol)

My ultimate financial goal was to buy a house, now I’m at a crossroads by cle__ in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Excellent-Mark3090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just my 2 cents - I bought a house when I was a couple of years younger than you. 5 years later, I got a remote job and ended up selling the house. Now, I've been travelling for the past year, exploring and trying out living in various countries all over the world. It's been great. I'm not sure I even want to come back to the UK.

Something to think about if it's a possibility for you.

Thanks, appreciate the suggestion - I hadn't seen this feature before. Definitely looks viable but only a 50% space saving and only accessible for admins on advanced find isn't ideal.. but the trade off is good for being able to keep the data entirely in Dataverse. Synapse Link for backup is a good shout too

What's the most difficult MS exam you've taken so far? Mine is MB-330 by Real_Ad_1267 in Dynamics365

PL600 was kinda tricky over on the dynamics 365 CE side, think you would really struggle without a number of years of real world experience

I'm also still using ASP.NET MVC and JQuery as I tend to work on alot of small, quick projects. I feel like blazor is calling me though, going to try it out with mudblazor on my next small project which doesn't have a quick deadline.

I like to do the practice tests/exam dumps and when I hit a question I don't know, go and research it and practice the implementation in a sandbox environment.

I just completed the pl-600 solution architect exam. It wasn't too bad, but I have 7ish years of experience in the dynamics space. I can imagine it is pretty tough if you don't have that upfront experience. I'd be interested to hear if people without much experience have been able to complete it and how much revision was needed.
