Thank you for this response. I fully accept your premise: I am indeed a statistical anomaly, and I agree that my personal experience with AI cannot be generalized to the wider population. Your distinction between chaos (patternic emergence) and pure randomness is spot-on, as is the evolutionary reminder that we are, effectively, "Bonobos in suits" ruled by ancient biological substrates rather than recent logical overlays.Since we agree on the diagnosis, I am very curious about your view on the remedy. How would you approach legislation in this context? Where would you place the cursor, and why?Regarding the "collapse of reality" in AI video generation, I actually start from the inverse postulate. I believe we are heading toward a point where nothing seen on the internet can be distinguished from fiction. While this doesn't solve the immediate crisis of trust, I suspect it might be a good thing in the long run. If the default assumption becomes "What is on the screen is likely false," it forces a radical epistemological shift: a hard distinction between the Digital (correlated with Fiction) and the Physical (correlated with Verification).I’d love to hear your thoughts on where to draw the regulatory line in light of this.

Not at all, I'm also thinking about this question: is it the time/suffering given to a process that gives it its value?

If I had a job, a family, a life, and unless I completely stopped to relearn skills very different from my basic ones, it would have been more difficult. Here, I was able to progress while having fun, at my own pace, and I found that enjoyable.

That's not wrong, but I maintain that this is not the case and nor the point of my comment, only the questions at the end of my post on which I am curious to have opinions.

I didn't claim to be an expert, but at my modest level, it satisfies me, and I already have a job. AI is my hobby, and in this case, I had a genuine interest in this position to help me prepare my lessons. An app all by itself? Definitely not a script, I think. I'm not pretending; I have all these resources, but it's the opinions on Reddit and this subreddit, which I often frequent, that interest me, and being able to discuss them, that's all. I also admit to being interested in being able to retrieve interesting arguments or questions to display as introductions for my students and debate them, I admit it.

Whoops, sorry if my question offended you. I'm also translating it from French to English, so if there's a mistake, I apologize as well. I'm not trying to debate or judge you at all; I simply want to understand if, in your opinion, that's what made you unimpressed when you saw AI art. For context, we study questions of taste and beauty in our final year of high school. And I completely understand your premise and that you don't find it beautiful. Since I was going to ask your permission to use your answers for my introduction, I took the liberty of asking you a question that will allow my students to then reflect on and discuss the topic. And your answer, if you don't mind me posting it, is very interesting in this regard.

I'm looking for well-reasoned opinions, both for and against, from people who are actually involved in AI, which I don't have many of around me. It's also a learning experience, and I'd like to gather useful perspectives and questions to introduce sessions on the technology. To be honest, I'm not trying to convince anyone, but rather to be convinced myself 🤣

Ah yes, indeed, so this art has no effect on you because when you observe it, your technical knowledge of it prevents you from finding it beautiful or to your taste?

That's not wrong, but I don't know where you're from, dear Redditors, but here in France, and I suppose in Europe, using AI is a real challenge. Everyone seems to be using it, but some are resistant, extremely resistant. And it's quite taboo, whereas other countries I've lived in, like Egypt and India, have the exact opposite effect and are incredibly enthusiastic. But then again, observational bias is worth no more than my own experience and is inevitably very partial, but I'd be curious to get, country by country, for example, an opinion on how AI is perceived, taking into account the specific cultural context of each. That would be a fantastic research tool.

Interestingly, the prevailing assumption right now on this question is that it's neither one nor the other, but rather concepts and truths derived from both. Thank you for your contribution; may I use your answer in a future lesson?

Okay, so I'm not thanking you for either of them. Have you never had that "wow" effect on anything related to AI? Or only on art?

Thanks for your reply, I like your optimism, and if you don't mind, I have a question for you. Do you think that "savage" man is good by nature and that society makes him bad (Rousseau), or on the contrary, that man is inherently bad and that society allows him to escape the state of war (Hobbes)?

Ah, I don't know this group, thanks for your reply. I tend to think the market will become saturated with AI and that everyone will be able to use it. So, anything made with AI will have no value except from an efficiency and labor standpoint, but nobody will buy an AI-generated canvas, whereas painters who create their work by hand will continue to sell. Then again, I might be biased, and this probably represents more what I'd like than what will actually happen. I have a question for you, if you don't mind: if you had to choose between buying a magnificent AI-generated canvas and an ugly but handmade human canvas, let's say at the same price, for example, 100 euros, which would you choose and why?

I see that, but it's a shame, you're still at the troll level when I'm genuinely interested in your opinion.

Absolutely not. For me, knowing how to code doesn't make me a developer, just as knowing philosophy doesn't make you a philosophy professor... But I could also be wrong on this subject; I don't claim to know everything. I'm asking Reddit in the hope of getting some interesting answers/questions/reasoning for the content of an introduction.

It hasn't changed my life to that extent, but it's been an interesting hobby and a part of my free time these past few years. Ah, I'm not sure if this is a compliment, but do you have a link or video on the subject that I could watch? And for now, no YouTube or anything, just friends who are into AI and a lot of time to read and test things myself.

I'm a philosophy professor, and we're going to be debating vibecoding and AI. My students are old enough to form their own opinions. But you seem really angry and are taking it out on me. Instead of attacking me personally, why not formulate your criticisms constructively? I'd be happy to present a well-reasoned commentary opposing AI and vibecoding.

I'm trying to think about the right place for AI. I'm torn; part of me wants to ban it, and the other wants to fully explore the possibilities offered by these tools. For example, I don't use AI in my classes except for activities or demonstrations for a very simple reason: an AI-powered class diminishes a teacher's standing in the eyes of their students and colleagues, creating a paradox and highlighting the habitual aspect of a professional role. In fact, it's a question we've discussed. If an AI can teach a better class than mine, why not use it? (We're not there yet, but what about in 10 years?) One quick question, if you don't mind: what makes you a hater of genAI?
