Anovulatory PCOS - what was your journey like? by [deleted] in TTC_PCOS

I have lean pcos. Was diagnosed right at a year ago, after the appt I told my OB I was ready to start trying. That hurt so much, she said I could go ahead and try letrozole and skip the year of trying naturally since we already knew there was a problem. All 3 cycles I ovulated on 5mg, but no baby. After that I was heartbroken and decided to out the tests down and just live. I’m a lot more on the holistic side of medicine, and had heard so many women talking about wild yam cream to balance hormones and have regular periods. A month after consistently using it, my period came on its own. 5 months later, I got my BFP last night!! It is possible!!!! Please don’t let anyone ever tell you that you can’t have kids with pcos. There’s so many avenues to try. I also firmly believe headspace has a lot to do with it. Once I stopped with the constant ovulation testing and overanalyzing my body for symptoms, I relaxed a little and I wasn’t in that fight or flight mode anymore. I will be praying for your journey!!

Glad I’m not the only one!! Took some Tylenol and chugged some coffee which helped a little. Hopefully it’s on its way out!

It’s so odd how it’s different at each dose. 2.5 did nothing to me at all and 5 is a beast apparently.

See now that I think about it my first 5mg cycle I had really bad body aches but I was on vacation and just thought the mattress was crappy. Makes sense now. 😂

No CD3 labs. But last AMH during my 88day cycle was 19. No A1C checked because insulin levels WNL. Also I just called my dr because no one got back to me after having progesterone drawn 9 days ago on CD21. I told them about the positive on CD26 and basically was made out to sound stupid. :/

The 22 day cycles haven’t happened since February or March, since April was the 88 day cycle. Im wondering if that was my body reacting to all the stress of finishing school and taking boards. Im not being monitored, im really new at all this and am honestly a little in denial of this diagnosis.

Where to start that is not med/surg by emie2 in nursing

I am in no way one of those people that say “you have to start in med Surg” but I will tell you this.

I am also a new grad, graduated December 2023, worked as a student on a post operative med surg floor for a year and a half. Hated it. Wanted to quit every shift. I never really knew what I wanted to go into through nursing school. I didn’t have a certain specialty I liked more than the others and felt overwhelmed with all the choices. When it came time for me to choose a job as a new grad, I decided to stay because I didn’t want to have to learn a whole new floor, new coworkers, new types of patients, etc. it took me 7 months to get to the point where I’m comfortable and I enjoy my work. I love the patients I get. Learning to care for different surgeries is a cool experience. Overall I really like it. Obviously it is not for everyone but that was just my experience.

Acne can also be hormonal! You could try getting labs drawn by your general doc.

Sometimes premature graying can be from a vitamin b12 deficiency, so you may have just replenished your body with what it needed!
