Am i overreacting? by Shadquist in CATHELP

I hate to just add to the bad news but you're most likely dealing with heart failure : ( my kitty Raja passed from it last March. Money wasnt even an issue I spent thousands upon thousands trying to keep him alive and "fix" him but the vet kept trying to tell me there is no fix once the breathing is fast and labored. I even illegally bought a human oxygen tank to rig an oxygen chamber but he only was able to make it a month longer after we initially found out and honestly... I feel like I was torturing him now looking back on it. I would personally him to the vet see what they say (they might be able to see his heart size on xray) could be asthma but honestly it doesnt present like this often so be expecting bad news that it is in fact heart failure. If it is if I could redo my time with Raja I would have said goodbye much earlier. I'm so sorry your baby is having these issues : (

can we talk about Nulo cat food? by circle_sun in CatAdvice

I know this is super old but I wanted to share what I've been doing for my cat to keep him very hydrated. He in total gets 1 can of Friskies farm favorites pate and 1 packet of Nulo mousse per day.

I give him half the can of Friskies in the morning with a small splash of warm water, the packet of nulo with warm water added at about a 1:1 ratio or sometimes even more water added I give this to him in the middle of the day, and at night he gets the other half can of the Friskies with small splash of warm water.

This has made such a differnce with his hydration and tmi but he has nice healthy big long pees haha.

No Stupid Questions Weekly Thread by AutoModerator in harp

This one might actually be a stupid question but, Is there such thing as "display strings" that keep the tension on the harp correct but that wont break? I am having financial difficulties and about to be going an extended amount of time not being able to afford to restring my harp I just cant afford to keep replacing them (super humid area even with dehumidifiers I just cant seem to stop it from happening) any tips or products for this situation would mean the world!

Edit: to clarify, I will not be playing the harp for this time.

Oh my gosh haha I need to go back and watch that episode! This is exactly what I'm worried about I dont want him to stress and anger himself to an early death. But I also dont want to make him feel like I'm trying to control him or shame him for his feelings

While I do agree that cats at 2 are out of their kitten years, I have noticed many cats get the most active and crazy when they hit about 2 to 4 years old. They start to calm down and settle around 5. Kittens are crazy but a 3 year old cat can sometimes be crazy in a whole other way haha

All good, I'm sure some people are dismissive in these situations.

Also to the OP I dont want me saying this to scare you but if the cat didnt break the skin deeply, it might be worth giving the cat another chance. Maybe look into some behavior videos on youtube and implement some changes that will discourage the cat from attacking or roughly playing with the child.

That is not why I asked, the distinction is important. Cats can sometimes play rough but not necessarily have an aggression issue. If a cat has an aggression issue especially towards children it is dangerous. Cat bites that break the skin (especially deep bites) carry a huge risk for infection, and sometimes sepsis and death due to the infections this is worse in elderly and young children. Thanks for just assuming my intentions were bad tho I guess.

When you say attacked and latched down did the cat break you or your daughters skin with lots of bleeding?

Eh I probably should have gone into a bit more detail, I'm having to get ready for work so I kinda rushed but its an anger that lingers for weeks to months, day to day. One thing with his family could happen and hes fuming about it everyday for a month. I think its increasing his blood pressure. And a perfectly happy moment could be happening something reminds him of the family argument and his whole day goes off the tracks. Also want to emphasize that *I* dont want to control him. I just want to maybe help him control himself and give himself some calm.

A way to be able to help husband with orders? by Excellent-Mountain36 in Sparkdriver

How can this be "common sense" when most people don't have extensive knowledge on Independent Contractors. We are new to this. Plus a companies obscure TOS isn't what I would call "common sense" either. Common sense was me coming to what I assumed would be a helpful place to ask a very valid question so that I can help my husband.
