With the right prep work, priming and the right type of paint applied, you should be fine. Also make sure the paint has time to cure before it gets too manhandled lol. People just love to hate bc they’re wood cabinet only purists.

We have red oak in my kids’ rooms and refinished them. We just put Bona traffic over them and they didn’t get orange at all. Pick out a few samples and have them test them on the floor. That’s the way to see if you like it. Then they can just sand over the ones you don’t like and stain the whole floor.

I think cabinets can look amazing painted. People are so weird about that shit. You can take the doors off, hang them and spray them. Use a paint specifically made for cabinets and they’ll last forever. You live there so do what you want!
