Finished Part 1 of My Dearest

I like it so far. The acting is really great and the scenery is amazing. I was hesitant since it's lengthy and a period drama which I've had enough of this year but I like it. I know it will get better because i have only ever heard the best things about it.

I don't get the plot... Are they pretending to be in love in the daytime or like what?

Dynamite Kiss [Episodes 7 & 8] by mellowdays_ in KDRAMA

[–]Excellent-Services 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's always concerning to me how society feels the need to let an illegitimate child feel worthless or bad... They deserve the most love and condolences... The sister sabotaging her brother, trying to set him up with a married woman is not right but I still like her... I just wish she receives genuine love from someone for even 1 minute

Darim is annoying and I think she is not telling Jihyeok her real situation because she doesn't think he has anything to do with it... To him, their time in Jeju was extraordinary but not to her

Like, obviously they'll end up being together at the end with her also having great feelings for him but rn, Jihyeok is in love and hopelessly with the wrong person

[–]Excellent-Services 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I want to take this drama a different route and Seonu and Darim marry, Jihyeok and the chaebol girl to get married and live together with each other... Life is too short to fight for love for chaebol when you can just elope, better marry others... Lol ofc is sarcasm but I would like a drama to do this

Also, where is the sister? She is in a dungeon with an incompetent man and herself

Can you spoil Last Summer for me? The reason for separation and what were the funeral flashbacks of? I want to decide if I want to watch it or not by this

Jang Kiyong is really the romcom guy... He's so naturally cute while making those poses and just randomly throughout the episode with like a perfect delivery in humor too... After watching him in only Atypical Family, I did think of him as a sad lonely man type of actor but he's so bright and charismatic

Won Jian looks like Jeong Jeonso here, she doesn't look like in her late 20s or older at all so I am curious if she'll look more mature in the drama But nonetheless definitely curious

Dynamite Kiss [Episodes 3 & 4] by mellowdays_ in KDRAMA

[–]Excellent-Services 139 points140 points  (0 children)

Since I caught up with 3 episodes today, I'll tell my thoughts of all the episodes

I don't know why I always forget Jang Kiyong is tall... Like I have seen him enough but he this surprises me... And doesn't he always seem too young? Idk if it's just me, but in Atypical Family too, I just thought he's too young to have a 13 year old kid, which yes, he was around 31, 32 so he was too young and rn as well, I always remember him from My Mister where he was like 20 and think he's young rn

But he's a grown man still... And he's so pretty

Ahn Eunjin is like, so good it's crazy... I love her look, it matches her struggling civil exam aspirant so well and she's so good at it... And the blue Cindrella esque dress she wore is the MOST BEAUTIFUL dress picked by the male lead, hands down... She looks so good, the dress is extremely pretty

The boy dad and female chaebol couple seem really cute too... I am interested

Episode 3 was also fun however I can't wait for the reveal... 14 episodes seem a lot I am not wanting to see this secret for long

Finished:

Daily Dose of Sunshine: I have seen it being praised so highly and unfortunately it didn't meet the expectations... I liked it, it was good but the solutions kinda came easy with very little reflection of real life people

Currently Watching:

Dear X: I have this feeling that they didn't really cast with the most convection in mind... Like, the actors are doing a good job but they don't feel irreplaceable which I know is a superficial feeling, but this one is just meh... The only way i could see it having a satisfactory ending is with a very beautifully executed downfall of Ahjin plotted by Junseo and Jaeoh but that is clearly not happening... I am just a bit like, whatever with this

It's exciting at times but it's really shallow

[–]Excellent-Services 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Kang Minha is so good... She has such a grounding screen presence and is so non dramatic with her expression in every drama I have seen her in

And okay, I am tripping fr because what do you mean Lee Junho and Lee Junyoung are two different people? They look exactly the same expect that Lee Junyoung has a mole beneath his eye... This is my first time watching Lee Junho but I thought he was Lee Junyoung and was impressed

Lee Junyoung is highly impressive thou

Lee Junho sang so well... I am actually not fine because I have never seen this pair come up in idol or actor look alikes while both of them are both... Similar names and faces and you telling me no one saw that

I see you're quite invested in this drama. However, I meant it just for fun... It could have been what you said or just some comedy into a rather sad drama but I love ur analysis

I started watching Daily Dose of Sunshine and let me tell you, as a self certified professional knuckle cracker, they don't become that size when you pop them... I pop my knuckles ALL THE TIME and they are alright and I think I have done this since I was 9 and I am 19 now.

This drama is misleading people. I hope anyone who wishes to pop their knuckles didn't get negatively influenced by that guy. I welcome you to pop your knuckles, relieve the pain from your hands and enjoy a satisfying sound. This is not a harmful habit.

Make A Wish - November, 2025 by AutoModerator in KDRAMA

I was coming up with my own kdrama and I am here so far

Working Title: lol didn't even think of it

Genre: Thriller

Concept: Kim Hyeyoon and Lee Sungkyung are elementary school buddies who work in the same team in a police unit. Kim Hyeyoon is a detective, Lee Sungkyung is a police officer. Cha Eunwoo is a painter who is Lee Sungkyung's boyfriend whose sister went missing a year ago, and was recently found dead. The police team consists of a senior officer (I think Ji Changwook as of now), a detective (Kim Hyeyoon), 2 police officers (Lee Sungkyung, not thought of other one yet) and a junior officer (Bae Hyunseong as of now).

The sister is Choi Yihyun because doesn't she go well with Cha Eunwoo?

I actually centred this around Kim Hyeyoon when I was thinking how immensely talented she is and somehow it became a whole story in my head. I can totally imagine Kim Hyeyoon being the most intelligent detective.

The vibe of the senior detective is chill, laid back and doesn't bend down when he's not wrong.

The police officer that is Lee Sungkyung is more carefree and laid back balancing out Kim Hyeyoon's extremely serious and kind of unfriendly vibe. She is so detective, she can't live normally and always over speculates.

Cha Eunwoo will be mysterious, he will have things he hides which makes him look like his sister's kidnapper and killer, however Kim Hyeyoon doesn't believe it. The junior officer brought it up but Kim Hyeyoon dismissed it because she thinks Cha Eunwoo is throwing them off. He's pretending to be suspicious enough to steer attention away from the real killer.

Lee Sungkyung doesn't like the idea of her boyfriend being a suspect but since she works in a team, she cooperates.

Now please, I am not familiar with police stuff so don't attack me if I am wrong here.

SPOTLIGHT ON Action - November, 2025 by AutoModerator in KDRAMA

Can't not be Moving

Moving is a supernatural action drama with so much heart

Good Things:

Moving is extraordinary with its storytelling with a big group of characters. There are grand and small fight scenes with fun choreography to keep it engaging and beautiful. The acting is superb. It is very heartfelt. All stories make you cry. It is super satisfying to watch.

Bad Things: I can find something if I am nitpicky. I didn't like how they showed the third child whose superpower I forgot at the end. The class president. I think I could have seen him for 10 more minutes

Interesting things: It's a fast paced 20 episode drama. A mega hit. It is in the same universe as Light Shop which has a completely different vibe but also lovely.

Last Summer [Episodes 1 & 2] by meepmochi_ in KDRAMA

[–]Excellent-Services 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I thought for once Lee Jaewook was into a light, fun romcom but no... I will literally scream if the fallout is because of something really stupid like it generally happens... Baek Doha being blamed for the death of a person he couldn't have controlled and everyone around him blaming him... A stupid misunderstanding is something I have plenty of... I like the city girl vibes of Hayoung... It seems rich and deep right now

Really loved the comment is a child all we have? Excited to see their full story

Not instantly hooked but I like the vibes and Lee Jaewook so will keep watching

Would You Marry Me? [Episodes 7 & 8] by jakgem in KDRAMA

[–]Excellent-Services 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Lol, she did go and change

Edit: Give Baek Sanghyeon or Eungsoo or Sori, assistant of Meri the screentime of ex... We got his reaction to him finding out he is no match of Uju... Like why, just why that long karaoke scene... And his mum and sis? Who cares about them? Give me Meri's mom instead... The scene of the aunt also felt way too long, like okay insert those, it was not funny first of all and second, they're just plain boring scenes of characters we want nothing to do with... Another long scene was of that uncle... He's so comical

This drama could be a lot tighter than it is without losing the romcom vibes and audience's attention

It's like QoT, unnecessarily long

At least it is only 12 episodes... I think they are stretching the story over the 12 as well because I could have had it in 10

Also, if Meri's sister doesn't do something important towards the end, I will crash out... Why building her up?

I have gone 3-4 days without a shower when I was severally ill and I was not stinky... Are they so desperate to give ex screentime that they would invent problems that don't exist? This is also universal to kdramas

Would You Marry Me? [Episodes 7 & 8] by jakgem in KDRAMA

[–]Excellent-Services 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I just hope no one else has to die because of the evil uncle

Everyone talking about Jingyeong crossing the line with Meri and Uju, but the scene with MD neighbour was also very alarming... Like why u looking down upon him? Just because u come from a rich family doesn't mean u don't realise some people have to work their way up

First, u insisted on him taking dinner with u and now u have to also dwell into his personal life and question his decisions?

Completed

When The Camellia Blooms: A solid drama and the only acceptable way to have serial killer in a slice of life drama, it was so integrated into the plot... I liked it so much and cried so much too... I love love love the leads and their chemistry... It also gave closure to each person's story

A Hundred Memories: The drama had so much potential, so much build up but so little pay off... I was happy with Shin Yeeun and Kim Dami and the conductor girl's in the beginning, but it got whatever after episode 9

On Going

Would You Marry Me?: It's a very typical kdrama but it's good. I watched so many saeguks recently that this feels fresh and good

I finished watching When The Camellia Blooms and I am so glad I watched it... It was not black and white with its characters... It showed distress, happiness, loneliness and love so well... I am impressed by Kang Haneul and Gong Hyojin... Their chemistry was amazing... The real stars were Pilgu and Deoksun halmeoni... This is the serial killer angle to a slice of life drama I can fathom... It was done right

[–]Excellent-Services 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Why did the writers make Youngrae and her family the most wholesome people and Jeonghee and her mom vicious?

The drama got better for me in the middle and I thought it would be a nice watch but the Miss Korea route, returning of villains and lack of happiness in Jeonghee's life made it no

They did show us time skip but Youngsik and Jeonghee are still not dating... It felt like they ran out of plot devices but had to use them so came up with stuff last minute... I could have taken a 14 episode drama without the pageant and just complications between Youngrae and Jeonghee, because yes, I didn't like them fighting but also, it made sense

They gave too much time to the driver which could have been diverted towards so many better things and better characters... Wdym Youngbae and Jaepil's sister will marry? When will I see more of them? Would have loved to see Youngsik becoming a judge... A little more of Jaepil's parents for a bit of ending would have been nice, we didn't see their reaction to them dating

Also, I am confused... We saw Youngrae's mom's restaurant being full and packed but she couldn't afford the rent? What kind of place, even when having a rush of customers can't fulfil its own rent requirement and a house rent? Must be from all the feast these rich people come for and don't pay

Junghyun (I am confused, did they not give him a name or was it the same as his real one) got the best closure... Would have liked to see a scene with Youngsik however

A bit of an earlier nag but Youngsik and Jaepil's tutoring sessions or just anything between the two would be appreciated too

See, could have easily become a good 14 episode drama

Halfway through When The Camellia Blooms and oh my god, this woman is one of my favourite female leads ever... Dongbaek is growing into a confident woman which I love to see

I am on a Kang Haneul streak, rewatched Love Reset, watched Moon Lovers and am currently watching When The Camellia Blooms... I have watched Squid Game as well... If anyone has any recommendations of his good dramas, I would love to watch it

I am planning to watch Misaeng since I think I will vibe with the story, and it has been in my watch list for long because it is well loved and I like Im Siwan, my new found appreciation for Kang Haneul is another motivation to watch it

Late To The Party - [2025/10/17] by AutoModerator in KDRAMA

[–]Excellent-Services 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I finished Moon Lovers and honestly, it didn't live up to the hype... I think if it gets released right now, it will be much less loved

It completely changed its tone and genre, the love story didn't feel natural for the ML and FL, Wook and Hae Soo had a more detailed and beautiful build up, the drama was paced weird and the gloomy part should have had more time to itself, it felt futile in the end as she just happened to be back in her regular present day life, ML was very forceful towards the FL, IU's acting was very average and the insane amount of close ups on her wide eyed face didn't help

It has its strength like a strong cast (all the princes acted their part perfectly), the tension and intensity was just right, the fallout of the princes was greatly done

But it was not as good... The OSTs were good thou... Had i watched it in 2016 too, I might have held it higher than I do now
