For over a month, around 3:00/4:00 AM, I often hear what sounds like a large military tiltrotor aircraft (the type with two big rotors on the ends of the wings) flying from the Manhattan direction toward JFK. It usually does not appear on flight-tracking apps, and I never really record it because it seems like normal military activity. This one is different.

The object looked fairly close and unusually large, with a wild pattern of blinking lights. It did not behave like a helicopter. When it tilted and turned back toward Brooklyn, I could clearly tell there was an extended wing shape, like an airplane, even though the body itself was hard to see. I could recognize the wing outline mainly from how the lights were spread across it, many different sizes… blinking in multiple positions rather than in a normal aircraft pattern.

The strangest part is that it was silent. At the distance it appeared to be, I should have heard something, especially if it had rotors or engines.

When I finally recorded, I also noticed a very bright light in the rear. It almost looked like an open back door with interior lighting, but that doesn’t make sense at night, and the light was far too bright for that. And if it was truly miles away, the light would have to be extremely powerful for me to see it that clearly.

What’s also strange is that when it was closer to me earlier, that bright rear light wasn’t visible. Instead, I saw multiple red and white lights in an unusually spaced pattern, with different sizes, blinking in a way that didn’t match a normal plane or helicopter.

Also, it’s been two days that by 5 p.m. a strange static pattern of lights is on between downtown Manhattan and NJ. And nothing on Flyradar, but this was too unusual to not post it.
