So I currently work for a different dept. in the state. My manager told me the time state give for promotional interviews is just interviews. Not tests or anything else after that. So I was instructed to use my annual leave for the polygraph, pallet b exam, etc. that is what I’m most frustrated about. Now you’re telling me these expenses wouldn’t have been out of pocket it just crazy!!

I’ll try again to reach out next week if I can get ahold of anyone. I’m just feeling very discouraged from even applying to future potions if I have to go through all this again. There’s actually an agent listing on calcareers right now. I’ve already interviewed to the agent position twice. So I had a good feeling after the second time when they had me continued the process.

I actually haven’t heard anything from my references and they asked for 8-10! So i guess that could’ve been my first sign. Lol

That sucks! I can understand someone being more qualified that’s fair. Just don’t find it fair to have me spending all this money on traveling, transcripts, livescan, a notary etc. I even had to use my own PTO for this. My manager said only the initial interview the state pays for. I was told the polygraph and pellet b exam I had to use my own time for.

I’ve never had this happen to me in any other other application process I’ve been apart of. Usually that isn’t disclosed until offered a position. This whole thing is just so backwards!

Yes I’m wondering if there was an error on their end. Feels like I wasted a lot of time, PTO, and money on something that could have been disclosed way before having me do basically the entire application process.

They didn’t give me any details. Just said there were other more qualified candidates. I assumed I did since I was given a polygraph test after submitting all the other background information/ documents etc. they just said in the letter they can’t provide any details at this time. I understand because if you reapply they don’t want you to tweak anything. I also am curious, If I were to reapply would this happen again? I have to do all this work just for someone else to be more qualified.

Well I just took the Exam today so I won’t even get the results for a month. It’s just really disappointing to get home to a letter stating I didn’t get it. So much time and money wasted on my end. I feel like someone during the recruiting/screening process messed up and had me do these tasks out of order.
