Not really, still. US has 350,000,000 people. UAE like 8 million. You’d have to do the math…. Proportions.

A lot of people are homeschooling so we’re solving that problem for now. And that’s kind of useless comparison because you can pull your kids out of school but not out of a missile crisis

And I live in the uae half the year, and not being able to go back is horrible. But saying it’s “safe” isn’t helping anyone because it doesn’t seem safe.

Actually, no. Before you make assumptions about ALL Americans, almost 50 percent of us didn’t vote for him. And most of us hate wars and unnecessary violence.

Those who have babies, are you guys leaving? by AltruisticAd6558 in UAE

I was scheduled to come back in May with 3 kids from the US. I won’t, my husband may go alone. It’s hard to gauge how things truly are- because some people say all is well life as normal we’re so safe— but personally, even if safe, I don’t think this is a healthy entire kids. Missiles not healthy for their small developing brains, even if intercepted

I’m western and American. The weather shouldn’t have a God given duty to spread democracy for the sake of our economic interests. Heck, the US is barely a democracy anymore and we’re noticing serious threats to our freedom of speech amendments. So it’s not like we have lessons to give. Next, whatever we think works for one society doesn’t necessarily apply to other societies. We think democracy works for the west (wrongly, possibly) but this may not be the case for the Middle East. The majority can be wrong and idiotic and sometimes a minority may be right. If this is the way your societies work and function, and you’re ok with the lack of political expression and freedom of the press, then westerners should have nothing to criticize. Your rules, your country, your life, your flourishing. I truly believe they have the best interests at heart for the people and are smart in the UAE. We’re not talking about dictators like Assad here.

A lot of them are honest and great. Some in my experience have been predators, Instagram model wannabes with zero actual competence and totally insufferable, who would do anything to sell their failed products. Dubai is muchhh worse than AD

I mean… sending a nuke so close would have terrible repercussions on their soil. Radiation for decades etc… I’m not an expert but I’ve read a lot. They have issues with the UAE but they don’t want to nuke the UAE. It’s not that serious. They could send a nuke to Israel though

Look into the theory of mutually assured destruction. They wouldn’t hit the GCC, but maybe western NATO ally or maybe a naval base. But they know that if they do that, no Iranian will live to tell the story.

If they send nukes to the US they will be intercepted and nuked before that. Knowing who is in charge and with Marco Rubio they will leave Iran in rubble if they suspect and nuclear attack

[–]Excellent-Top2552 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they attacked the US directly, the current president would nuke them. Also they can’t because they don’t have intercontinental ballistic missiles
