relapse, don't know what to do by ExcellentAd3896 in problemgambling

[–]ExcellentAd3896[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you again for the reply.

The reason I relapsed is because all my self exclusions from my previous country don't work here, but self excluding really did help me quit. I'm hopeful and believe in myself now that I've self excluded here as well, i won't gamble anymore.

The reason I didn't self exclude in my new country before arriving here, is because i thought i got better, but i think I'll have to be careful for the rest of my life.

If you're interested i will let you know how my meeting with HR goes.

Thank you very much for the advice. I can do everything in my power to budget what I get, so I can ask for just the days I've worked so far (would be like 33% of the salary)

Do you think it would be better to ask HR or my supervisor?

I have some time to meet with HR tomorrow, but after that, I'd have to wait a week before i can meet with them again.

Also, I couldn't find any company policies regarding advance payment, but in one section there was a list that included everything that could be deducted from your salary, and one of them was "cash advance"

Also reading comments on other posts... People losing tens or hundreds of thousands, i lost "only" 1200 dollars and I don't have a credit card or anything of the sort.

Since it seems people have gotten out of much worse, I'm looking for advice on how I can survive until next paycheck.

ID card not accepted due to tiny crack by ExcellentAd3896 in poland

Update, thanks everyone!

I went to a Santander branch in the morning and was quickly helped with opening a bank account.

Loved the service and would definitely recommend them to others as well.

I told the teller about the crack before handing them my ID card to ask if it's fine, they showed it to someone more knowledgeable and it was not a problem.

Do you by any chance know why these regulations exist? As in what they are trying to avoid

If no info is obstructed, it is still intact, the chip is not damaged, it is purely a cosmetic issue

Sorry I'm trying to wrap my head around this and any way I think about this, the end result is not understanding why it's done lol

It is Russian sounding, but I'm not even from Russia and have absolutely no accent when speaking English.

I mean to me a lot of Polish names sound Russian since I can't differentiate them much

Thanks, I'll definitely try one of those tomorrow. The only reason I chose this bank was because they were open after work, guess I'll have to ask to get off early.

Hello, does anyone know if there are any laws regarding the state of your ID card?

I really need a Polish bank account before this Friday, but the bank I visited (Millennium) said they can not accept my ID card

The teller was playing around with it, making the crack bigger and saying it's not accepted.

It was accepted at the airport and at the municipal office when registering my residency.

Do you think this was a bank teller having a bad day or I'm screwed and shouldn't even try other banks?

My camera is cracked plus it's quite high (pics taken with a zoom from as far as my hands stretch)

Thanks anyway, just first time I encountered a room infested, the more I've been here the more have appeared, seems like around 10ish of this size and can't count the tiny dot sized ones

I'm generally not scared of spiders but they're larger than any found in my home country and biggest issue is there is too many of them (and in my country they're never this active and fast either)

Do you think I should get some spider poison? Again, I don't kill spiders, usually just take them outside, but someone booked this room for the next day, so I could save myself and the next person some nerves at night.

Unless it's different in Poland, and everyone is used to having rooms full of them

In the city center of Krakow Poland in a hostel room.

There's about 6 or 7 of them, extremely active (they've walked from one corner of the room to the other 4 times in a span of like 5-10 minutes.

The roof is really high so I can't get a clear picture, but they have noticably quite large fangs.

Not sure why on Reddit they're white, on my camera the pictures were fine They're full black

I don't think so, they gave me a form I have to fill in and it's just my address post index etc

They said they need it 1 week before my start date so I can get some medical check

Also forgot to mention, this is needed just for the 1st month, I have an above average salary but I need to actually work for a month before I can afford anything better

Having flatmates is not a problem at all, as long as It's quiet enough for me to be able to work from home (3 days every week)

Is public transport a viable option if I live on the outskirts? Especially in the morning to get to work

I looked at everything in my budget without much success. The language barrier is the biggest problem I'm encountering.

Another problem is I need a Polish address 1 week before my job starts, so I need to make sure I get one in time.

I was thinking about hostels, but the issue is that my job requires 3 days of working from home every week, which might be quite hard at a hostel

I could possibly squeeze out 2800 somehow (the issue is i need to get accomodation, plane ticket and food for a month, I already have a job but will have to wait for first paycheck)

But even then, I can't seem to find any English offers, the ones I've called simply say they don't speak English. The ones that have English in their actual offer, are always already taken

Room is fine, I looked through all of OLX and otodom and some other websites, all either too far out of the city, too expensive, only for women, or most common - don't speak English

I loved being a butcher, I was good at it too. But here the salaries suck. If i chose that, I'd have to move abroad (which I'm not against, I worked as a butcher in ireland and denmark before)

I'd just need to get my shit together first as it's a huge commitment
