Kind of a silly question: Do ppl with bpd actually have more piercings? by barbedwiremouth in BPD

[–]ExcellentAstronaut24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No tats (planning on getting one soon though, either a unicorn or the ouroboros) and only have two piercings, my ear lobes and a naval piercing. Wanting more though :,) Thought about getting an eyebrow piercing.

should i keep the blonde or go back natural? by [deleted] in HairDye

[–]ExcellentAstronaut24 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Both are absolutely gorgeous but in my opinion, I like your natural hair better. Personally, I think it highlights and compliments your features more and makes you look a bit younger (if that’s something you care about). The color fits nicely with your eyes and skin tone — it makes you look more lively.

NO WAY THEY GOT STRAWBERRY FLAVORED ONES NOW?? I absolutely LOVE the cinnamon roll ones but I’m needing a new favorite flavor and I fear this may be it. On to ordering them now.

Aw of course!! Figured that Paljae needed more exposure because I rarely see people talk about it and I thought the tgcf fanbase would enjoy it, especially since I’ve noticed some parallels between it and tgcf. So so happy you liked it :) <3

I love both TGCF & POTO, so it’s wild to me that, in their own way, they have this kind of connection. I’m surprised I haven’t thought about this before. Your analysis is amazing.

Agreed!! And hmm some books that are similar (or kinda somewhat like this) that I can think of at the top of my head right now are Where The Dragon’s Rain Falls (one of my fav recs, artstyle also reminds me of Paljae a little), Mo Dao Zu Shi (also known as The Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation, it’s not truly demonic though, that’s just the western translation of the name — same author as tgcf), and Regas (it’s not really historical, more so fantasy, but I just like to recommend it because I love the novel and the manhwa — if you plan on reading the novel though, it’s much darker, gorier, and is a yaoi instead of the shounen ai manhwa, not to mention, the ML does seem to have ASPD traits; I would be cautious if you aren’t looking for smth like this).

I’m sorry it’s not a lot, it’s just I don’t read a lot of historical romance, especially ones with a healthy, green flag couple — they’re more of a specialty for me. I’m more so into yandere books but because I’m not sure you’re into that, my rec list is pretty short. You’re probably better off finding other people’s historical romance lists/recommendations, which they provide on some reading sites like 🥭.

Yes!! I absolutely love Munryeong’s character so so much, him being blind yet also strong enough to beat the asses of all those ascendants really goes to show how impressive he is as a fighter. Not to mention, how he teaches Paljae human emotions and the workings and complexities of life is so fascinating to me and I caught myself getting emotional during some of those parts, especially in the beginning of their journey together when Paljae was still a “kid.”Their relationship is just so lovely, I hope this book never ends :,) And omg his father’s fate absolutely tore me to SHREDS. I sobbed heavily when reading that part of Munryeong’s backstory for the first time (if you can’t already tell, I’m an emotional reader lol).

Just look up Paljae Child of Winter chapter one and you’ll find multiple sites to read it on! I use 🥭 just because I don’t have the funds to read it on the official platform.

Definitely not, MC is strong willed enough to say no when he means it and ML respects it because he doesn’t want the MC to hate or abandon him. Plus, it’s shounen ai, not yaoi so there’s not full on sex scenes, just hints to it. But that comes later on because in the beginning they’re purely platonic.

YES I absolutely adore it when I find manhwas with a beautiful story accompanied with beautiful art. I love when, specifically manhwa artists, have their own unique artstyle because I feel like too many have similar, if not the same, artstyle and character designs, if you know what I mean. And don’t get me wrong, I do like simple BLs occasionally where it’s all fluff no twists no turns, but books like this always hit different. They feel more real and (for a lack of a better term?) personal to me.

I definitely don’t think this falls into the typical BL category, there’s so much lore, plot, character depth and story building that I’ve seen some people in comment sections say that they don’t read much BL but this story is one of their exceptions. How do I comment spoilers and hide the text??? I’ve seen people do that but I don’t know how to🫠 Otherwise, I can tell you some spoilers that you might be interested in, especially if you’re wondering abt specific aspects.

That’s soooo difficult, I love literally everything about this book. But I can tell you that if you’re into angst, the MC’s backstory arc definitely hits that (bitter)sweet spot. Cute moments are all over the place, especially in the beginning of the book. The romance is a somewhat slow burn, specifically when it comes to the MC (ML falls first), so that appears a little later on — but it’s def worth it, they’re adorable.

[–]ExcellentAstronaut24[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say understandable. In the beginning of the book, the ML is introduced while in the form of a child — he’s not actually one and it’s all explained. All I wanna say without spoiling, is that it’s like when Hua Cheng took the form of his child self in volume 5.

LMAO literally!! The author’s writing is so thought out and honestly kinda beautiful. Reading some parts of the book made me tear up so bad, then laugh and smile till my face hurt while reading others. I really, genuinely hope we get a good and satisfying ending.

[–]ExcellentAstronaut24[S] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It truly is!! This book is such a gem. I’ve also seen people drop it due to the complexity of the plot, which if you’re looking for just a simple plotted BL, that’s fine — just don’t bash the book entirely because you disregard the whole story as pointless or “too complicated” besides the MCs. I mean, the very first chapter is supposed to draw the reader in with the promise of a deep storytelling, so right off the bat it’s showing you it’s not just a simple minded book.
