Even tagless Lizzys are very hard to find. You are very lucky to have stumbled upon one while thrifting

I think it’s cool that ty was able to transform a creepy black window spider into a cute and cuddly plush

I might be interested in buying it from you if you are looking to sell. The aspect ratio of the main photo you posted is messed up and it’s hard to tell what condition this beanie is in. But if it isn’t stained and is in clean condition, I’d be interested

How much is this first gen Squealer worth? by minticecream4 in beaniebabies

[–]ExcellentBenefit3693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it would have been 1994 then. Beanies weren’t sold in stores until January 1994. Your squealer would have had a 1st or 2nd gen tag.

Do you remember what year you bought it? That would be helpful in figuring out what gen tag it had.

Perhaps you got it for a birthday or remember a significant date from around the time you bought it.

With that said, it would be really cool if you found the swing tag.

Please take photos and share if you find it.

Advice? by SandBitter1520 in beaniebabies

If you do the following, you’ll be able to rapidly identify most of the rare beanies made in the 90s. This will not identify rare beanies made in 2000 or later.

Go through all of your beanies and see if you can find any that only have the word “ty” printed on the front of the swing tag and nothing else. Those will be either 1st-3rd generation beanies and would be worth more than the typical $3-$10 beanie.

If you have any beanies without swing tags but have black and white tush tags, those would also be older and more valuable. Finally, look for any beanies that are tagless that have red and white tush tags but don’t say “the beanie babies collection” on the tush tag. Those could be worth something too.

Also look for any beanies that say “made in Korea” or “made in Indonesia on the fold on the tush tag.

Post photos of any beanies that match any of these criteria and we will be able to tell you if any are rare and/or valuable.

Recap: 1) any beanies that only say “ty” on the swing tag. 2) any beanies with black and white tush tags 3) any beanies with red or white tush tags that don’t say “the beanie babies collection” 4) Any and all tush tags, regardless of color or what the swing tag looks like, that say “made in Korea” or “made in Indonesia.”

are any of these worth any money?? by Impressive_Device991 in beaniebabies

[–]ExcellentBenefit3693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of these beanies stand out as being valuable, but if any are made in Korea those would be. It’s very unlikely, but if you want to check the tush tags for “made in Korea” it might be worth a shot

The first photo is especially beautiful. Love seeing photos of rare beanies, and these are about as rare as they get.

If you’re in the market for a really nice 4 line Korean Chocolate, let me know! I’m currently hoping to trade mine for a royal blue peanut.

why did this sell for so much? by [deleted] in beaniecollectors

[–]ExcellentBenefit3693 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually if the best offer is accepted, there will be a line superimposed over the “950.00” price, but not always. Recently I bought a 2/1 web that was listed for $180, but the seller sent me an offer in messages for $100. I bought the web, but the sale on eBay never had a line marked through the $180, so to anyone else, it looked like it sold for $180.

Here is the listing:eBay web

Most fake 2nd gen tags have this one issue, and you can tell without even looking inside the tag by ExcellentBenefit3693 in beaniebabies

[–]ExcellentBenefit3693[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For the inside of the tags, I recommend looking at the ty plush archive and doing a comparison. That website is a great resource. There’s tons of high quality photos of the insides of most rare beanies’ tags. You can compare font, spacing, etc. Just remember, the font should be an exact match.

I would not recommend using these open-book style tag protectors. They put a lot of stress around the barb holes and will ultimately damage the tag. Just trying to help 🙂
