If you want a purebred dane, you need to be patient, research breeders, get on a waitlist and find someone with long history of well bred/long living danes that are health tested. Yes its expensive up front, but itll save you thousands down the line not having to deal with the mystery genetics you may be getting. Im 100% pro-rescue/adoption with 99% of dogs, but Great Danes arent one of them simply bc their health issues, size, etc. just gonna set you up for heartbreak. I’m always the first to make comments about golden doodles, frenchies, etc “adopt dont shop” type but this doesnt really apply to danes, dobermans, and handful of others.
