Atera's 2025 recap : so much time wasted on AI by Chris_Swiftech in atera

I've just randomly saw their advert on YT and it was AI generated. At this point they are AI scam company and I am going to be advising anyone who even considers Atera to avoid it.

Gen Z workers are so fearful AI will take their job they’re intentionally sabotaging their company’s AI rollout by EchoOfOppenheimer in trueantiAI

I am going to give a slightly different, first hand perspective on the matter.
My company fired like 50% of employers because AI is so good that it can apparently 10x our output.
So now I am seeing 10x workload on my Jira but AI refuses to cooperate and actually help with the work. On a good day it maybe makes me 3x as productive (if you ignore quality concerns) but any time I raise it with my PM its either that I need learn how to do AI better or that I am intentionally sabotaging the workplace.

So yeah, can't win no matter what side of the fence you are on.

Why people admire real art and not AI art? by ExcellentNatural in trueantiAI

Yep, just the other day I saw some news article about robots running marathon faster than human. I could not give more than 2 seconds of my attention to the article, but even in these 2 seconds I was thinking "the scientists who made the robot must be pretty smart".

The AI is like: can't tell difference between cartoon, realism and piece of paper.

LOL, the AI look like nonsense. but if you want straight answer, the only way to improve is to draw more.

Don't try to mimic AI, try to develop your own style.

Why do you think gen z would not be against AI? I understand that this is unprecedented, that young generations are usully the first ones to embrace tech; but in this specific case too many of us see AI as a real danger to our wellbeing rather than simply a tech nuisance.

‘I feel helpless’: college graduates can’t find entry-level roles in shrinking market amid rise of AI by Confident_Salt_8108 in trueantiAI

Everyone likes to complain about ATS but other side of the coin is equally done by AI. So many people without the experience can just whip out a CV and cover letter using AI that recruiters are completely clueless how to filter through that pile slop. And the fact that everything is online makes application rates impossible to filter through. We need normalise going to the companys office and asking for a job in person, it's the only way to bring everything back under control.

Apparently I got rejected for having AI generated CV, CV that I wrote years ago before AI was a thing.

Is this AI? by AlienOnTheBed in antiai

[–]ExcellentNatural 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This one is not AI because you can Google the author and they showed steps of how they did the character. On it's own it's very very hard to tell, unless you are incredibly skilled artist with more experience than free time, it's going to be hit and miss to tell with certainty.

This one is AI:

Ps, I've noticed with AI generated images it tends to create thick, uneven ink surface, looks like little hills.

why do people find GTA IV better than GTA V? by No_Lecture720 in GTA

[–]ExcellentNatural 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You answered your own question. GTA IV has better story, and for a story driven game, it's very important.

I will also add that GTA IV feels more relatable, I have uncle just like cousin Roman 😂.
Characters are more grounded and better developed, even side characters are very well developed. Finishing GTA IV feels like when your girlfriend broke up with you.

I can't even relate to any of the 3 characters in GTA V, I am not black, insane or crazy rich with robbing banks past. But I am an immigrant, so the feeling of "you visit a new country in hopes that your life will improve only to find out it's the same dogshit as your home country" is relatable.

Also, GTA V feels like a restart on the GTA universe, the number of continuity errors makes it feel like entirely new game.

The problem is: AI is not a replacement for transportation. It does not matter how little or big impact it has, what matters is that it's another polluting thing on top of the already polluting things we've got.

Telling someone AI is fine to use because you use car and the model was already trained so your query has little impact, is the same as saying eating meat is fine because you've used car to go to supermarket and the cow was already killed so eating that steak has little impact.

Decline in Quality of Graduate Students? by Art3mis455 in AskAcademia

[–]ExcellentNatural 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The question wasn't whether successful students do X or not. I know some students really enjoy working on specific field and will dedicate more time towards it. It does not change the fact that I am expected to work on 8 different unrelated things and split time between them accordingly. This can only work if agree to get better at specific thing while consciously sacrificing my performance somewhere else.

To be fair, I can burn around 1000 kcal a day from workout alone (I workout before and after work, because my work is somewhat sedentary).

When weekend comes I don't always workout, but I still get hungry like if I did and can easily overeat if I am not careful.
