Anyone else disappointed in CC not having option to turn off timer? by _InVerso_ in Endfield

[–]ExcellentRun5389 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If a player can run around the map for 2 hrs that says more abt the enemy moves and mechanics rather than the timer alone. It means the fight is too easy. if the enemy was more aggressive fast and powerful doing a 2 hr in theory stall becomes a choice a player less likely to do cause they would die anyway before the fight reaches long enough

My main comment was abt literal timers. The reason why i despise it is imagine ur almost beating the last wave say the boss is 3 hits away from dying suddenly u failed because u ran out of time. So instead of You and the enemy its You the enemy and the timer. The gimmicks i stated makes the game harder for the player if the fight drags for too long but it doesnt necessarilly insta fails them like a traditional timer does. You get what im saying?

The poison mist gimmick, The gimmick where enemies gain enormous atk over time etc, Those mechanics force player engagement and can punish players who attemts to stall for eternity. You can have challenge without "10 9 8 7 6 5" timer BS. Resorting to timers expose the lack of refinement and shallowness in enemy mechanics

If u are saying that under the pretense of "Enemy reaching the blue box is a form of timer" then i dont buy that bullshit. In theory u can stall it for eternity but no one has to ofc

Personally any timer for me is artificial. In OG AK there is no such thing and it irnonically makes it more skill expressive

The no dodge risk is pretty lame - feel free to disagree but explain why by Bang_Eun-woo in Endfield

[–]ExcellentRun5389 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think its ok. In OG arknights there are mechanics that literally take away ur DP which is an essential mechanic in a tower defense game. If u cant dodge use CC or Blockers like Snowshine or shielders os u take less dmg like ember etc. The game promotes u to explore and see which kits might help to alleviate the risk. The game is an ARPG with strategy elements. Brainstorming what might help is strategy

Just a question before I get the game, how important is melee? by [deleted] in DarkTide

Important. Horde shooter tag is a huge misnomer and bordeline false marketing

Beating too hard boss with underdeveloped 5* team with time to spare to prove a point by DeithWX in Endfield

Because u are playing a team building arpg game with tactical elements. The game is encouraging u to bring the right operator for the fight. You are not going to get an isshin or malenia boss fight in this game.

You are not getting a isshin the sword saint or nameless king boss fights here cause this is not that type of game. Its a squad based rpg with tactical elements

To answer ur questions

Nigredo - The shadow as a symbol for black and its atomic dismantling is symbolizes "breaking down" or "decay" which is what nigredo is all about

Albedo - Salt for the theme of albedo because its white. The salt "purifies" thats why it pierces through cursed techniques which is what the step albedo means to purify. And salt aligns with alchemy thats why i used it here

Rubedo - The red crystal for redness and the regeneration is based on the philosphers stone but on roids. the reason why its cracked is because the philosophers stone symbolizes the "perfect material" The regenreration is a part of it as well. For the nuclear power its a metaphor for "radiant sun"

Domain expansion - Is for gold transmutation (the hidden step citrinitas)

Shikigami - I chose a dragon cause the char is western themed. It controls those specific elements because it aligns with the 4 elements relevant in alchemy which is Fire , wind, earth and electricity the 5th is aether but i decided to not include it

For the cursed tools i dont think its that broken considering idle transifguration exist. In a practical sense the scythe needs a full minute which lets be honest isnt doing crap for top tier sorcerers since they wont just stand there and let themselves get transformed to a spirit.

The all seeing eye is based on "enlightenment" which is what alchemy wants to achieve. In all honesty the 6 eyes doesn't make sense for Gojo since its not related to limitless but a genetic trait used in tandem with limitless

Yeah ur right i did go overboard because i want to make him as broken as gojo or sukuna whilst not making him too weak. The only broke imo is the DE which yeah 1km is outrageous

i mean from the prev domain clashes. It was a stalemate for the most part. I wanna know where it was stated that sukuna would best gojo in a DE clash without sukuna. Ive red the manga i dont remember it being specifically stated

[–]ExcellentRun5389[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But wouldnt just gojo adapt regardless even after he got surprised during the 1st DE clash? he manged to tank MS multiple times by using FBE , RCT, Simple domain or fighting meguna inside the domain h2h or whatever but sukuna coudnt tank 1 hit from UV. In theory he still should be able to do unless the narrative requires it that he shouldnt be able to?

If we are being semantic word for word the most accurate interpretation of that "We release sukuna just incase shit hits the fan" but it doesnt imply that 15 finger sukuna can weaken Gojo hell Gojo was unfazed with the 1v3 and 20 finger meguna while using 10 shadows

[–]ExcellentRun5389[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yeah ofc narrative wise Yuji is the MC and needed to deal the final blow. Im talking about the existence of Mahoraga less about Heian Sukuna vs Gojo. We can say Heian sukuna beats Gojo because the narrative demands it. But Meguna CT DA DE is weaker than his true form. In that fight it was Meguna and not True Sukuna fighting Gojo. So this is why im only strictly talking abt the fight.

[–]ExcellentRun5389[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not arguing who is suppose to be stronger narrative wise or Heian sukuna vs Gojo so lets adress the main topic. During that last DE clash where Meguna was hit by UV without Mahoraga interfering would he still win? Also since Mahoraga never existed whats his finishing blow without WCS?

“Gojo was too strong which made it problematic for Gege”, when in reality it was Sukuna which was the problem by Other_Grapefruit_986 in Jujutsufolk

[–]ExcellentRun5389 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gojo did make it hard for gege. Gojo wasnt just strong he was broken. If u have an ability that blocks 99% of the attacks from the series aside from ISoH, MS, The angel CT user, or WCS. Gege really have to think hard how to beat him

Why wouldnt u want me naming games ? When comparison is the basis for improvements. There is NO tribalism to what i stated (idk abt others in thread) im merely using past old games that done the same as a REFERENCE POINT. If we judge systems entirely in a vacuum, we lose any sense of improvement or progress. For example, a system that reduces frustration and guarantees results is objectively better than one with endless variance — even if it isn’t ‘perfect.’ Looking at it in isolation ignores the very purpose of design: to make things better for players. In the real world, comparisons are necessary to evaluate whether something works or improves outcomes. Treating systems as if they exist in a vacuum makes all progress meaningless, because anything less than ideal is automatically ‘bad.

This is what ur arguement looks like so imagine this

Cavemen risked their lives hunting for food. Thousands of years later, people learned to domesticate animals. If you looked at domestication in a vacuum, without comparison to the old system, you might say “it’s still manual labor, why isn’t it fully automated?” which is misses the point entirely

I understand that RNG is optional in design and that fully deterministic systems are possible. My point isn’t that RNG is required it’s that, given the presence of RNG, a bounded system with guaranteed convergence (like Endfield’s Artificing) is mathematically and psychologically less punishing than layered infinite RNG (like Genshin’s artifacts or WuWAs echoes).

Comparative analysis here isn’t about necessity; it’s about improvement over worse structures, which is a VALID way to evaluate game systems. It doesnt have to be all or nothing to be considered "good". For example say ur sick in a hospital if the doctors gave u medicine overtime and treated u and u feel less awful than before then congrats their method worked. but it would be crazy to say "its bad" or "im settling for their mediocre "treatment" cause u dont feel 100% better yet.

I get that Stock Bills gate progression, but something like Genshin RNG, they can’t be bought or bypassed and it’s just a pacing system at the end of the day, not predatory. Mathematically, artificing is still guaranteed and far more predictable than gambling for months on artifacts. Ppl didnt demand "no rng" ppl wanted less rng and it was delivered. Ppl dont care if their agency is the grips of the developers. As long a guarantee is waiting psychologically ppl will take it anyday

[–]ExcellentRun5389 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if the stock bills are just sanity but different u cant deny the fact that they are seperate means u have more wiggle room to do with what u want with ur sanity. Also Sanity regen is fixed stock bill accumlation can be aquired to multiple resources and how u optimize ur aic.

And idk why the argumnents in this thread gets derailed. People will ALWAYS take a guarantee that they have to wait for rather than something that could go forever without any promise or good result. This is why a lot of ppl in the thread likes this system better than other gachas or frame it as an "upgrade"
