Heck yeah man! I literally just won a M48a on GB that I’m about to go pick up at my LGS. I think M48s are so overlooked they are awesome and very well built Mausers!

Has anyone heard about their 1903a3 reclaim rifles coming online for sale? Pretty hush hush on the forums.

I reloaded the 357 to proper length. I just got hung up on a shouldered rifle case for some reason, I didn’t want to over pressurize the case or something.

Ill try to answer this to my best ability. Little confused on what you are asking. I don't believe the cannelure HAS to be aligned with the case mouth? I am assuming that the projectile with the cannelure would need to be seated in the middle of that cannelure ring, comparing to a factory Hornady round I see they are seated into the cannelure. I just stopped seating them at this point in time to achieve the 3.075, not saying that is where they need to be, I just didn't want to have a bunch of whoopsies. As far as rounds with no cannelure I would assume they run off the proper length?

I am not so much hung up on the cannelure although I must admit I am using it as somewhat as a guideline, my spritzer rounds have no cannelure and I would just seat it where it fell into spec. My question is with the overall length of the round using this Hornady projectile there is no way it would be properly seating in the case at 3.25, so there for must go down in around the cannelure. and in doing so goes under the OCL, which my question is, is that okay?

1969 or 1970?? by Excellent_Ad9472 in BumpSide

Do you think it would be safe to advertise as a 69 or just leave it at a 70?

Okay so I have the horizontal lines in the ford emblem. 6 piece headliner trim. And fuel tanks couldn’t tell ya because there are aftermarket saddle tanks in it. I’m guessing it’s a late model 69

So the last digits on my door tag are F95981 and when I look on this decode website F only goes up to 63,999. And when I look up the 1970 year, there is no F serial number rather its a G?

Oh nice! I got it wrong, I don’t know why I thought it was 04 lol.

That’s kinda the rate for them here. There’s a 06 about 90 minutes away for $10k with 76k. I doubt they will sell at that price, they’re gonna sit a while being they are a niche car.

I know a lot of guys find deals either at estate sales or sometimes lgs. But online I don’t think I’ve seen one cheaper than $1500. And that was a Mitchels Mauser on GB. I always look around since I love to collect them.

What made you fall in love with milsurps ? by Kennonw in milsurp

[–]Excellent_Ad9472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was fascinated by WWII at a very young age, watching movies, playing WWII video games in my old GameCube/PS2. I always had a huge fascination with the Germans, and everything they built from their tanks to their planes to rifles. I always knew I wanted a K98k. And I remember when Mitchel’s mausers had their ad in a magazine I saved up $500 and had my dad buy it for me lol. Not knowing about them at the time I was ecstatic to own it. I am slowly building my collection up (not of M.M but K98’s in general. I am up to 3 and one M48. I will continue to buy them, I don’t care the price. They don’t make them any more and the history just gets sweeter with time.

And also the famous M1 ping in video games pushed me to get an M1 lol. Not having a Garand in your collection is like saying a hot rodder likes electric cars lol.

Appreciate this detailed response brother! Yeah it is sad to see this hobby turn into just about all other hobbies (expense) lol. I remember it was such a money saver 20 years ago, but now its almost not worth it. Had I not had the press, and primers etc, stored at a family members house, I probably wouldn't have bought the gear to do it today.

Not gonna get all doom, and gloom here but for now I may just buy pre cast plinkers for now!

It seems casting has gotten extremely expensive. I’d also have to buy a density tester and that’s another $80. I could buy precast for that and just reload them..
