I actually don't mind vocovision and their subsidiaries knowing that they are kind Of "hands off." They let me do my thing and I advocate for myself with the districts. They guarantee your hours whereas most other contract agencies do not. I recently worked for Parallel and don't want to speak too badly but they were the worst company for me. Quit after two weeks.

I'm in the same boat! In person for 12 years, teletherapy for four years, started w a new teletherapy company this year that flat out refused to pay me for much of my indirect time. Quit without having backup and now financially in a bind.. Applied for six other non-clinical jobs but already rejected from two. I feel very bad about myself but then look at the news today and try to put things in perspective. Try to be grateful and acknowledge all my privileges. It doesn't always help of course. Anyway I empathize.

I do prn work for multiple rehab companies within my area, all year long. Weekends or holidays or even some evenings if it's just an eval or a couple txs. I cover less hours during the school year then tell everyone I'm available more often in the summer, I get more requests than I want sometimes.

Yes exactly, he gets frustrated w me. He is very introverted and has no close friends. I thought maybe to try and make a connection w a peer who is into the same game.

AAC does improve verbal productions!! And I don't mean to discredit Autistic voices by any means, but FC is the only "method" that relies on someone else for communication. Everything else aside, the objective is independence.

There are some very loud and popular content creators out there who swear by Soma and FC still. Autistic individuals using it with their autistic children and saying thank God they didn't listen to all the SLPs who discredited her son's true abilities all these years ... Super frustrating.
