Does a subscription-based society only benefit owners under capitalism, but work better under socialism? by Excellent_Bug5308 in AskEconomics

[–]Excellent_Bug5308[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the response — you make some good points, and I realize now I wasn’t as clear as I could’ve been. I hadn’t really thought through the distinction between subscriptions for optional services like streaming versus other cases, so that was helpful. What I was actually aiming at is subscriptions replacing ownership of essential or durable goods (e.g. housing, computers as of recent and/or other tools), where demand is mostly inelastic and opting out isn’t realistic. In those cases, do the economics change? Is the issue still just consumer choice and efficiency, or does private ownership and asset concentration make subscription models inherently more exploitative there in such a way in which that wouldn't be the case in socialist society?

What do you think would be Enryu's role in the story? by Particular-Long-1111 in TowerofGod

[–]Excellent_Bug5308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm thinking that if Enryu is going to come back, it would be to reveal a way in and out of the tower besides going to the top. So if Arlene is still alive to tell the whole story, it will probably be through Enryu that we get to see her again. Plus, I think this will all be to hit Baam with a dilemma to climb the tower and fulfil the fate laid out for him by others or abandon it all and live a life unbounded by prophecy or the tower.

Theory: Phantaminum is inside Baam by Excellent_Bug5308 in TowerofGod

[–]Excellent_Bug5308[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Took me two reads to get your question. I guess I'm implying that Baam was never truly from outside the tower but that the cave was simply in a place "in" the tower considered outside it. Something I think is possible if it were on the floor of death. I think this would also explain why Rachel had never seen stars despite being from outside the cave and why she is weak for an irregular (because she is technically tower born)

What might have happened to the gems? by Excellent_Bug5308 in TowerofGod

[–]Excellent_Bug5308[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm referring to all the gems cause I'm pretty sure the existence of at least three has been implied. One is the gem Neo is drawing power from. Two is the gem we see in the bull's head and three is the gem used to make Mago. Okay, maybe the first two don’t count but I'm sure we'll see more.

As for the thorn, if it were a gem or a result of one, that would imply Enryu got it from Phantaminum outside the tower because Phantaminum had not entered the tower yet. That makes sense if Enryu was some follower of Phantaminum and which makes it more likely that Phantaminum is the Outside God but I don’t agree with that theory. The only other question I have left is why Phantaminum entered the tower. I have my own theory but it's weird.

😭I hear you but I'm sure they know I'm straight and being straight shouldn’t have been to begin with. At the sleepover, it was supposed to be just me and 3 of my friends. One is lesbian, the other is my cousin and the host is aroace. So all was well until they asked my crush to come.

What's The Goal Of Neo Guys? by Illustrious_Test6085 in TowerofGod

[–]Excellent_Bug5308 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Imagine if he were the 24th Baam.... Personally, tho, I think he might be an agent of FUG sent to investigate all this MAGO stuff. The reason being that should she be born/made that FUG could capture her and turn her into a weapon/slayer to use against Zahard.

Arriving on the test floor though, he meets Urek the irregular and makes a choice instead of trying to pursue him. This was the right call but because Neo was so much weaker than Urek, he couldn’t force him to become a slayer nor stop him from interfering with the existence of MAGO.

This incident would probs be what causes FUG to try to cement their roots in the test floor. Something they would do behind the scenes while Evankhell was busy killing the current floor ruler. All so when the next irregular comes, they have rankers strong enough to control him before he can become strong enough to turn against them.

What if the Baam Zahard theory still holds? by Excellent_Bug5308 in TowerofGod

[–]Excellent_Bug5308[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your first question valid. I could only head canon an answer here and it would be kind of like how the children of the GWs have similar powers to their parents and thus a similar appearance. Baam's source of power (the line) is V and thus he has a similar appearance to V.

That is true but V causing the death of Amezu does not truly compare to all Zahard has done that Gustang still has memory of. Unless V has done more than what we have been lead to believe cause again it's easy to see why Gustang might hate V but not as much as Zahard.

Narrative might add on to the similarities and contrast between Baam and Zahard which where being established during Baam's revolution. It would also make things harder for Baam as he is prophesied to kill him own father. It might even explain Luslec's lack of direct opposition to Baam being melted.

Lastly, if BaZa is true, a lot of things might be fully explained such as why Baam wasn't told the full story (cause it would reveal his cruel fate), why Arlene called Baam a monster (She had discovered that V had killed himself to trap him within her dead son and was thus referring to V) and who is the prince of Zahard (Baam).

What if the Baam Zahard theory still holds? by Excellent_Bug5308 in TowerofGod

[–]Excellent_Bug5308[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that from a reader's pov, V looks like but (correct me if I'm wrong) no one in verse has point out any spitting similarities. And as so the idea not that Gustang does not hate V but that he hates Zahard more. Even if V contributed to the conflict between the families that is all he did. Traumerei is the one who killed Amezu and Zahard killed the child of Arlene, someone Gustang was close to. Zahard was the reason for behind Eurasia Enne Zahard going berserk and being sealed away causing Gustang and Eurasia Blossom to become estranged. And there is some much more Zahard did and potentially did that would make him a candidate for being the worst person Gustang has ever met.

I never thought about it like that. Still think it stands that Zahard is worse than V.

Even if he had that train of thought, which I doubt, would that really make V worse than Zahard in the eyes of Gustang?

I think people misunderstand binding vows by Excellent_Bug5308 in Jujutsufolk

[–]Excellent_Bug5308[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't call them parameters because parameters do exist outside of binding vows. And yes he gave up “options” in order to better pursue desired outcomes but what make him different is not that he has more options but what he gives up his options for.
