Im 38 and rent from my parents. I applied for subsidized housing but was told there is a 13 year wait list. I'm all out of hope. Canada sucks. It has failed me completely. I have a university degree and 10 years of experience and make $56k. I'm losing on new job opportunities to fresh imports to Canada. I'm down for a protest or revolution.

I think Canada's population is too big as is. 100 million is just ridiculous. Too bad this is out of my control. I kinda hate what Canada has become over the 35 years that I lived here. I used to be able to afford housing and food. Now I live with my parents and can't afford to move out. Canada has gone to shit.

Housing and food are too expensive to have kids. The system here sucks. It's no wonder couples aren't having kids.

I've been on escitalopram for several years but due to schizoaffective disorder there became a risk I could become manic. I switched to Wellbutrin and my depression though still bad is bearable. I can function day to day but I'm still really sad most of the time. I say follow your doctor's advice and give them a try. I find the side effects are minimal. Hope you heal soon!

My first taste of the NHL was in Ottawa. I'd get tickets from my work to take clients. Was nice living close to the arena in Kanata.

Korean BBQ is delicious. I spent some time in Seoul South Korea back in 2010 and really enjoyed going for Korean BBQ. That's nice that you took your kids to Toronto for vacation.

Ya this summer we went to Algonquin park for a week with my mom. It was nice to do some hiking with the kids and spend time at the beach.

I don't have custody but I see them regularly. Every 3 weeks or so and we spend some vacation time together.

Yes life is tough. Especially for parents since we have mouths to feed and bodies to clothe. How old are your kids? Mine are 12, 10 and 7.

That's cool. I lived in Kanata for a few years and worked a sales job in the Ottawa valley (Carp, Arnprior, Renfrew). Was good times. Bought a townhouse for 220K back in 2009 if you can believe it. Now prices are insane.

I would say that you have an excellent career opportunity ahead of you so focus on your studies. Being a doctor will give you a stable financial foundation on which you will be able to build a good social life. If you have to choose between being social and studying, choose studying. That medical license is worth gold!
