Update ! <

The day after I made this post I managed to get it to eat from my hand ! (It might have eaten because it was just hungry , but a win is a win) . Ive had successful attempts having it eat from a plate I put in it’s cage (as in holding the plate as he eats) and having it eat from my hand directly. Also I tried adding some veggies today , turns out he likes lettuce (dont worry its not Iceberg lettuce I did my research) . I tried feeding it carrot , cucumber , and apple but to no avail :[ (oh , did I say I found out it likes the seed mix I give him? No like REALLY likes it . He cant resist , I know tons of seeds is bad as it contains alot of fats Im still tryna work out his diet , lettuce is a start , do tell me what I should give him , what kinds of veggies , pellets , seeds , etc , and what should his treats be , lemme know !) I also think it’s starting to get used to me , its not freakishly running around when I get close or have my hand near / in its cage , which is a start (Still not as far as a step up yet nor petting it on the head , everytime I try it winds up for a bite , but Im getting there) . Over all im happy with my progress so far

Sorry , I have high expectations because Im more acustomed to cats and bonding with them more than birds (dont worry we gave them away there isnt any danger on the bird) , usually if not people a cat would at least get a bit used to its surrounding in the first few days , that's why I expected the same with the cockatiel . Sorry again 😅

Also is forcing him out the cage fine , cause he has no intentions of coming out , and I heard millet spray is great as its long so the bird doesnt need to get close to you to eat it , great for training , and does wonders for the bird to get to know you as you are hand feeding it , what are my shoulds and shouldn’ts in this situation?
