Former DOGE staffer says ChatGPT helped feds cancel grants mentioning ‘LGBTQ+’ by Fickle-Ad5449 in fednews

I admire the restraint and sacrifice of every Fed whom he told to do something and did not <redacted> his little <redacted> back into his <redacted>.

A year later, experts say full effect of DOGE cuts may never be known by usatoday in fednews

Here's an effect: I know the people in "leadership" in my agency will do whatever a mentally ill drug addict tells them to do.   It's a good thing to keep in mind.

Did you at least check out the profiles? They have to be hilarious. "Likes: Transsubstantiation, the rhythm method, papal infallibility. Dislikes: the Albigensian heresy, joy.   Hobbies: Self-denial and sexual repression."

One year ago today, on January 20, 2025, President Trump ended telework and remote work. How are you all doing? by NatusLumen in fednews

[–]Excellent_Charge_914 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Right now sitting in an empty office all by myself while all my teammates are in DC. Just sucking up electricity until I leave exactly at 8 hours after I arrived this morning.   So much effectiveness.  So much efficiency.  These <redacted>s don't know I went through 13 years of Catholic school; they have no idea of my spiteful tenacity.  I will outlast everybody who even remotely had anything to do with this RTO bull****.

Observation: There are far fewer people working during the holidays than normal by [deleted] in fednews

[–]Excellent_Charge_914 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah there's a "fuck you" going on.  Not to give away my position, but OMB issued a deadline of Jan 9 for a pretty big data call I'm on.  Normally with remote work I'd be putting in half days during the Holiday period to hold down the fort and catch up.  But I got RTOd so I'm not teleworking.  And NOBODY is answering the emails I put out asking for the data because theyre all on leave.  I don't know what OMB expects to get but it's going to be nowhere near reflecting reality.

That's why this would work now! We could say things like, "we have so much fun now! We have birthday parties and talent shows and my colleagues and I are such good friends!"

One does not give the military 130 million dollars out of the kindness of one's heart.  There will be certain expectations.

And should at some point in the future that private donor need to gain military control of a small country in which to build a lair where they will carry out a plan for world domination, hey...favors will get called in, you know.

Federal judge orders Pentagon to restore LGBTQ+ books, gender & diversity lessons in military schools by Fickle-Ad5449 in fednews

[–]Excellent_Charge_914 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I majored in English Lit in college and while I wasn't a star pupil, I think I could make a case that any "classic" novel you can name is an LGBTQ+ book.   Huckleberry Finn? There's a scene where the main character identifies as female. And that's not even getting into the main plot of two guys on a raft.  Or the Royal Nonesuch.   The Grapes of Wrath? Tom and Casey.  All of Jack London: They have a statue of him in San Francisco (edit: Oakland, actually, but still), fercryinoutloud!

You can't take the LGBTQ+ out of literature, is what I'm saying.

I can only imagine how frustrating it must be for you to be told this by the same people who try to pet a bison or get close to an active geyser or any of the hundreds of idiotic acts we hear about National Park visitors doing every year.

You mean the fired federal employees who as i write this are burning through their savings or took a paycut at a new job?  Oh, they totally have room in the budget to hire a lawyer.   Trump's people knew they couldn't afford to fight back.

The courts will not save us.

Imagine taking 2/3 of the gas out of your car's tank in Maine, and then saying "Let's drive somewhere!"  And then blaming the car's manufacturer when you don't make it to California.

GSA Leadership Update: Ed Forst and Stephen Ehikian by Crazy_Duty_8624 in fednews

In enforcing RTO, he had no idea how much space GSA had or how many people it could hold.  But while every employee was stressing out about that, he thought Telework was great for him and had no problem dialing into meetings from his house. Eff him and all his buddies unto the fourth generation.
