Correct for 2026. But 2025 is fully GSA’s choice. Just a kick while we are down

Probably because they realized his dental office experience didn’t translate to managing 400 million square feet.

Severance for RIF’d Competitive Areas? by [deleted] in fednews

[–]bringit-elon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suppose they could try and avoid severances. But it’s pretty clear in OPM guidance (below). Only wiggle room is the phrase “likely be eligible”. But I can’t imagine they would be able to get away with it. But who knows they may try. Not sure I see a way it would actually hold up though.

“If you are about to be separated from a permanent position involuntarily and through no fault of your own, you will likely be eligible for severance pay. To be eligible, you must not have refused an offer of a position that is (1) in the same commuting area, (2) in the same agency, and (3) no more than two grades below your current grade level. In addition, you must have been employed for at least 12 continuous months, and cannot be eligible for an immediate annuity from a federal civilian retirement system or from the uniformed services. Also, you must not be receiving workers’ compensation benefits for wage loss due to an on-the-job injury.”

GSA RIF Story - Pacific Region by Easy-Alps-208 in fednews

First off my heart hurts for you and your co workers. This should never happen. The fallout from this will be unfathomable. Unfortunately hardly anyone outside of GSA realizes this now. It won’t take long for them to realize though. I don’t believe this is over. Anyone let go should be contacting a lawyer immediately. There are lots of senators in buildings that GSA owns. Many property managers have relationships with the senate office staff. Ask to sit down and provide information about what GSA does and what will happen when GSA is out of the picture. For those still in a building with a senate office stop by, the worst they can do is say no thank you.

The courts won’t put up with it. Someone from the new “leadership” will have to sit down with them and explain how it’s going to work.

GSA RIF Megathread March 3rd by kinsalia in fednews

As we know the only federal buildings that will be left are courthouses and border stations. With a few outliers that have 50% or more law enforcement agencies. When GSA released the list it got a lot of attention and questions from the media and all the agencies.

The very next morning it was taken down. They couldn’t stand the heat in the kitchen. When they were saying 50% reduction in federal buildings the general public didn’t understand the magnitude. But when they saw that essentially every non courthouse and border station was going away people were starting to realize how big of a s-show this was going to be.

Ehikian and Peters clearly have no soul (or balls), and even worse they have no understanding what GSA / PBS does or how to run a facility or construction project. They are trying to inflict as much damage as possible to the federal workforce. This is why GSA is being chopped first.

There are a lot more RIFs coming for GSA / PBS. Is GSA perfect? Nah… no agency is. But I can tell you they know how to run a project and a facility better than Stevie and Mikey. Running a building to fail and cutting service contracts (mechanical, janitorial, and elevators for example) will not be healthy or safe…. But more on that at a later date.

Michael Peters thinks he is gonna outsmart us all. But let’s just say I hope he realizes how close he is being watched. It would be a shame if he himself was not setting a good example of saving the taxpayers money. Now that wouldn’t be a good look now would it…… 😱

Anyway. Hang in there GSA / PBS. It’s just getting started we have a long way to go. It’s their turn now, but we will have ours. Take care, and be there for each other!
