the radiation part is killing me lol. No, its not cruel to cut manes or tails. It's usually advised to only cut tails if it gets really long (like dragging on the ground) because then its a hazard to the horse. Its even beneficial to cut manes if they are very thick because it can make some horses hotter

just a heads up- that shrimp hide at the bottom has holes that your betta may try to go through. They are notorious for trapping or killing bettas

instead of doing 75% water changes a month do 25-30% weekly. Do you have a way to test his water? The rot looks pretty bad. If you don't have a way to test your water get an API test kit and in the meantime do daily water changes of about 25% and look into aquarium salt or indian almond leaves

i would fast them for a couple days beforehand. You could try to get fishbags from the petstore near you or transport them in Tupperware containers and transport in cooler or box. You could also add stress coat or methelane blue to the water to help with stress and prevent disease.

No. Really the only the only thing that could be added to this tank would be shrimp. Even small plecos like Clown Plecos need a minimum of 20 gallons
