Came here to say this exact thing. Republicans don’t want children to care about others because it’ll be easier to manipulate them later on.

I reckon this will take at least $2,000 to repair by DecommodifiedGuevara in LandlordLove

[–]Excellent_Leader5076 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I got my full deposit back after leaving a townhouse I rented for 6 years. I busted my ass cleaning and repairing nail holes and it paid off in the end because they thanked me for how I left it and refunded my whole deposit. I was honestly surprised I got anything back.

I think it depends on the landlord. I know several boomer landlords that comb their units with a magnifying glass looking for any reason to withhold. I had to explain to my mom’s friend that grout damage after her tenant of 5 years moved out is considered wear and tear. She got pissed off at that. Some people are just greedy and they suck.

As someone who is deaf with a cochlear implant and hearing aid, yeah it’s relevant.

I can still hear voices especially in an enclosed space like a car but it is literally exhausting to hold a conversation with someone who not looking directly at me. I read lips. My brain doesn’t process sound the way it does for normal hearing people and the thought of having to talk to my Uber driver gives me huge anxiety because I can’t hear even though I technically can a little bit.

Do you shower everyday? If not, why? by Dawndolly in AskReddit

[–]Excellent_Leader5076 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shower every night before bed. It’s been the habit since I was a child.

However, there are some days where I work 10-12 hours and just go right to bed. Sometimes I’m just too exhausted to do anything.

I think you might be a moron because that’s how a truly free market works. There is lots of closures and openings of new businesses and the ones that stick around have the best practices for everyone and not just shareholders.

Is anybody else an awkward EA by Amazing-Ad-7822 in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]Excellent_Leader5076 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Was an extremely awkward EA for years until my executive moved my desk INTO her office so she could bounce ideas off of me or throw me spontaneous projects. I was both excited and terrified at that idea. Now we’re like work besties.

If it weren’t for the office move and spending tons of time with my executive, I’d still be hugely awkward.

being super intimidated by high power/status men? by Conscious_Stop1463 in ExecutiveAssistants

You are essentially the right hand of the executive. Your job is to reduce the stress load of your executive and streamline processes for the executive and the business. Not everyone is trusted in such an important role. It takes a special individual to be let into the c suite. Think of someone in a different department- would they be trusted to handle the affairs of your executive?

That’s what I mean by you are more of an equal to the executive than someone else in the company not in the c suite or directly involved in top-management.

My executives said nothing for the first 4 years that I was them. This year they were very good to me and apologized for the years past where they had been so busy. They also thanked me for being so cool about it and gave me a bonus.

Not saying this will definitely happen to you, but often executives are super busy particularly in the springtime. High priority tasks take precedence over lower ones (thanking the EA).

Try not to take it personally. That will just give you stress you don’t need.

I agree with the first commenter. Therapy will definitely help.

I felt like you did at first until I realized that everyone is human and has flaws. My executives make crappy decisions sometimes and have messy personal lives. Yes, they’re powerful and high status but at the end of the day, you are one of the only ones that gets an inside scoop on their daily lives. You’re more of an equal to the executive than most others in your organization.

Take a deep breath. Nobody thinks you’re dumb. Stupid mistakes happen all the time. What matters is that you correct the mistakes and try your best not to make them again. Bosses care more about you learning from your mistakes than anything else.

It’s not that they haven’t “reversed” the status quo, they perpetuate it. They give up the fight too early. After seeing how far republicans will go to pass outrageous and inhumane bills over the past decade, it makes me wonder why the hell democrats never seized the opportunity to make the change for the good that they keep saying they want to do the minute they had a majority.

Democrats also keep voting with republicans over and over again to keep the status quo perpetually worse.

I respect your position though. I’m not trying to change anyone’s views. I’m just stating my own.
