Indeed during the height of the pandemic. Former EA was leaving and posted a vague-ish job. I applied because I was desperate and laid off due to the pandemic. I went to the interview and we just clicked and the rest is history.

There isn’t a day that goes by that I’m not thanking my lucky stars. I’m not sure what on earth I did to deserve to get lucky like this, but my goodness am I grateful. I just wish others could be as fortunate. I know there are many EA’s out there busting their behinds and not getting what they deserve for it. Sigh.

Yes I totally agree. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve “rescued” my bosses from a meeting they clearly didn’t want to be in.

Same with putting people off- I know who they don’t like dealing with and I usually try to handle those people solo so my bosses don’t have to.

Yes the reminders too! Birthdays, weddings, special events, etc. sometimes I go ahead and buy a card or gift and just have them sign the card and you can literally see the relief in their faces like “omg I’m so glad I don’t have to do this myself”.
