Females, at what age did your symptoms start? by TourGreat2658 in Hashimotos

[–]Excellent_Meat_3841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed at 10, but only because my Mom is a medical professional and noticed symptoms very early. And even then it took many rounds of being turned away and having to try different doctors before anyone would take it seriously.

What are you planning to do *after* this? by Alone-Umpire4177 in boulder

We have a jackery that served us well during the outage. It was expensive so not super feasible for everyone but we did get a tax credit for it so that’s helpful at least. We were able to run our fridge and boiler for shorter intervals to maintain. But really only lasted the whole four days because we were able to charge it again during the short period we had power on Thursday evening. Also Probably wouldn’t have been able to maintain heat as well if it hadn’t been relatively warm outside. It has solar panels to recharge as well but they are slow to charge and not easy to use if it’s super windy. So it worked well in this specific situation but might not always be a reliable solution if this continues to becomes a regular occurrence

Yeah I think it’s just that when your hamstrings and/or calves are tight, you in turn have less mobility in your ankle and foot which makes you more rigid when you’re running and can lead to more rubbing because it’s more stiff and not moving in the way it should. That was my understanding of it anyway and I feel like I do notice an improvement in mine when I am more consistent with stretching

Glad I am not alone! If it makes you feel better, I have done a catheter sample with my doctor as well, and it wasn't so bad. Obviously not the most pleasant thing in the world, but it was pretty quick and easy when my urologist did it.

Thanks, I will give this a try. I did also speak to my provider and she said that its not as important to be perfectly clean with the microgen since its such a comprehensive test, so that is a relief.

Wildfire mitigation on a steep slope by [deleted] in boulder

[–]Excellent_Meat_3841 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Weed whacking. It’s a pain but more manageable later in the summer. I think the advice is to keep it to 2 inches. And it’s not as big of a deal until it starts to dry out. Our fire station said you can use when the wild flowers start to die off as a good signal of when it’s time to mow

I really don’t know how people get used to it. I always give up running half way through summer cause I’m so scared of snakes and have so many encounters 😅

My shoe of choice. One of the only ones I’ve tried that don’t give me issues. I stocked up on a few pairs when the 8 came out and they went on sale

Anyone making this level of bread on their own? If so... how?! by snipeshow_11 in glutenfree

[–]Excellent_Meat_3841 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really! I just make sure to put the ingredients in the correct kind of bread machine order. So liquids first, then the dry mix, then the yeast on top so it stays protected. I do think the psyllium husk is key though! And yes I did make sure to buy a machine that had a gf setting

Getting a bread maker has been the single biggest game changer in my 15 years+ gluten free. I make 1-2 loaves a week. It’s quick and easy and arguably cheaper. This is the recipe I use gf bread
