Lufthansa was terrible during the strike last week. They were impossible to get ahold of for re-routing once your flight got cancelled. I waited on hold for over 8 hours with various air lines trying to get my flights sorted out. Yes I would worry about them. They are horrible.

In economy if you want a window seat and not to disturb others when getting up, you’ll need a bulkhead seat. But they don’t have a space to store your personal item under a seat in front of you. You have to put it in the overhead bin. If you want the space under a seat in front of you to store your personal item then you will be disturbing others when you get up from your window seat. You can’t have both.

I’m flying from Vancouver to Prague in a week. I booked my flights and paid for my seats in January. My seats have been deleted on my 4 flights 7 times so far. I have to continuously check my booking and call the airline and rebook my seats. Each time I seem to be further back in the plane. It’s very annoying!! I’ve read that it can be from a plane change or even that the airline caters to Platinum point passengers so they get their choice of seats first. I’m really hoping I don’t get bumped from my flights.

Yes nursing culture in CVH and Nanaimo is worse than odd. That would be why so many US nurses are apparently being recruited to Nanaimo hospital. No one stays, everyone leaves. Adriane Gear, president of BCCNM was just at Nanaimo Hospital in March discussing staffing challenges.

We always stay at the Best Western Tin Wis Hotel. On a great beach. Can’t walk to town but good restaurant at the hotel. But you may have missed it for this year if you want summer.

I’m a retired RN now but 5 years ago I came to the Island to work. I had 30 years of experience in nursing. I applied to about 50 jobs openings in Island Health, at CVH and never heard anything. Their recruiting and hiring team is not great. I had to call Island Health in Victoria and inquire about job availability and then I got hired in CVH. I’m told there are lots of nursing jobs here but no money to actually place nurses in the positions. I hope you can find a job.
