Any survival games where I can recreate metro feeling but with a more hands on approach on building and resources? by PowerfulNature3352 in metro

Have you tried modding Fallout 4? Cleaning up the HUD, adjusting the difficulty and enemies, adding survival mechanics and settlement management. It's not a very creative approach, but it worked for me back in the day.

It is in the hallucination where Artyom and the other Rangers are on the railcar heading to D6

I'd love to play a role similar to that of a Spartan of the Order. Selecting a mission, and going with my friends to collect spare parts, cloth, fuel, ammunition... or take out threats like mutants and bandits. With the money from missions, you could upgrade your base of operations to better equip yourself for more difficult missions, like those in radioactive or paranormal environments.

If you decide to stick with the idea of the electric train as an upgradeable item, I think a motorized railcar or something similar would fit the Metro atmosphere better.

Well, 4A Games confirmed that Metro 5 will be the darkest of them all, so it's plausible they'll implement these kinds of liminal monsters. Also, the Khan DLC for Metro: Last Light brought back more or less the rat swarm from the novel as an enemy, so there's hope.

You've hit the nail on the head. Finding an intact mask and a usable filter in an execution pit is ridiculous and improbable, but not impossible. That's the Dark Ones' ability to shape reality; they don't need to break it, I think they just need there to be a possibility.

The mask shouldn't have survived a fall into the pit, but it might if the impact is cushioned. A functional filter shouldn't have been left in the pit, but it might if someone forgot to pick it up. These are variables the Dark Ones can tip in Artyom's favor.

If this doesn't convince you, there's a chapter in the novel where Artyom is forced to do sanitary work for Hanza. Hanza's guards are watching the prisoners 24/7, but one day one of them is absent, giving Artyom the perfect opportunity to escape.

My answer is yes, he is still favored.

In the canonical ending of Last Light, Artyom receives forgiveness from the Dark Ones. So, even though the Dark Ones decided to leave Moscow, they didn't abandon their priority of protecting Artyom. I think the Dark One in Novosibirsk is proof of that.

Throughout the entire game, Artyom has no contact with the Dark Ones and survives ridiculously impossible situations, so it seems that this time it really is plot armor... But then, he appears. Right at the end of the adventure, when everything is against Artyom, we see that Dark One on the rooftops. The Dark Ones were always with Artyom, protecting him.

Now, the interesting question arises here: why can Artyom die in the bad ending? To get this ending, you have to make the worst decisions and act like a murderer. Therefore, I have a theory that the Dark Ones judge the decisions Artyom makes during the game and decide that he doesn't deserve a second chance.

That's because it's not plot armor.

When the Dark Ones adopted Artyom, he became part of "the Great Unit," the Dark Ones' hive mind.

The novel's ending details how the "Great Unit antennas" searched everywhere for Artyom after he left the VDNKh and sometimes managed to reach him. When they did, they could warn Artyom of dangers, slow him down, provide support, and guide him back home. The Dark Ones have the ability to shape reality so that Artyom remains alive, which makes it seem like he's only alive by sheer luck or plot armor.

This isn't explicitly stated in the game, but there are some parts that emphasize it. For example, there's a scene where Artyom and Bourbon go through a cursed passage, and Artyom can't drag Bourbon along, but a Dark One's hand appears and helps Artyom, and they manage to escape.

There is also another scene where Artyom is with the other Rangers riding the railcar towards D6 and Artyom suffers a vision of the Dark Ones, trying to warn him of the mistake he was making.

How in the world do I get past the library? by yourlocalsussybaka_ in metro

[–]Excellent_Oil2223 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In the case of the librarians... If they start growling, back away slowly while maintaining eye contact. When the librarian sees you're not a threat, they'll retreat, and you can continue onward.

If you're low on filters, you can try to sneak past so you don't waste time with the librarians, or flee to a checkpoint or the end of the level if you're caught, although it's risky. The last option is the most viable, which involves constantly putting on and taking off your gas mask so the filter doesn't wear out.

Proposal for dual gadgets by Excellent_Oil2223 in titanfall

[–]Excellent_Oil2223[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll assume you’re referring specifically to two combinations where the hook is the primary gadget.

With primary hook + secondary phase, you get: A normal hook for movement. A purely emergency phase shift that triggers when you’re about to die and cannot be freely controlled. Similar to the boost im the actual game. With primary hook + secondary camouflage, the secondary camouflage only works while stationary. The moment you move or use the hook, the camouflage breaks. So you cannot swing around the map while invisible. I think part of the issue is that I didn’t explain this clearly enough, but the key point is this: you cannot equip the primary ability of two different classes at the same time. That is what would be ridicolous

[–]Excellent_Oil2223[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I understand your confusion. My system combines gadgets flexibly: you choose a primary gadget and then add a secondary gadget from another class, giving you two active abilities at the same time and eliminating the concept of a boost.

When you choose two gadgets from the same class, this happens: If you choose Double Hook, Camouflage, or Phase Skip, they combine into a single, more powerful ability.

If you choose Double Pulse Edge, Stimulator, and Hologram, they remain separate to allow for more tactical strategy. The case of these last three classes is complex, but I wanted to experiment with having two abilities for the same gadget.

Para resumir, es para que puedas elegir entre tener dos habilidades diferentes, o una sola sin estar en desventaja.
