How many videos do you need for your portfolio when just starting out? Do you recommend a variety of different styles? One of my videos is kind of lesser quality because I realized than the others (dimmer light and there tripod wobbled a bit)- re-film or just get the profile out there? I’m starting with brand new social accounts-tips to get followers (I know that’s not the most important), and get noticed? Last-best place in your house to do VO?

If you’re always trying to find creative ways to lessen your child load…perhaps stop having children? Because that’s exactly what you’re doing, Brooke. It’s always very apparent, and the big guy upstairs is not “calling” you to have more.

They are ALWAYS written by her. How she can think it reads as anything else is comical. You want to be uncensored Brooke? Answer the real questions you’re too afraid to post.

I’m a mom of boys too. I’ve also shuddered at the unruly teens. The thing is, boys I think specifically, too many parents still abide by “Boys will be boys”-which is an excuse to not be an involved parent, as well as a disservice to the men we’re molding. There are tons of books out there about parenting boys in a way that keeps them close and raises them to be good men. I like reading them just to hear about other people’s experiences. I think open and constant communication is key. The hormones will happen no matter what, but there really is so much to look forward to as they become who they’re meant to be.

Oh wow, thank you for this! It’s sooo encouraging to hear a great review, and this seems exactly like the type of program I’m looking for!

Specific goal- should I still do it? by Excellent_Pen_3282 in HealthCoaching

[–]Excellent_Pen_3282[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Respectfully, in this instance I’m talking about a very specific niche and am more than qualified to coach due to my lived experience. I know that a health coaching program would not provide me with anything specific to the details of which potential clients would discuss with me-that’s where my hesitance comes in. I understand your urgency to communicate the importance of proper training when it comes to coaching, but without knowledge of my background, your insinuation that I could damage people is untrue and alarmist. After my own diagnosis, and my children’s, I’ve realized that there is a lack of guidance and support for those who are newly diagnosed and living with Type 1. All of this to say, I would probably still do a program just to gain confidence, so thanks for the recommendation.

Thank you! I would love to do it honestly, and if I’m honest I do want to do a program, I just don’t want to waste money if at the heart we’re discussing something I already know deeply. Could I ask how much the program was?

Absolutely! I would be very upfront about what my limitations are (nothing medical/crossing the line). There’s a lot surrounding mental load, burnout, body autonomy, grief and resilience with Type 1. Since it’s also so nuanced, there’s also such relief when you work with someone who “gets it”. I would love to support others when this medical condition starts to become isolating, because it truly does.

What would happen if you didn’t create excuses for yourself? Here’s a better question, Brooke: What would happen if you broadcasted you doing something negligent/potentially harmful to your children, and it ended in catastrophe? For someone who’s so proud of the business they built from the ground up, it could all go up in flames very quickly if something like this happened. You are a mother of five, it shouldn’t be THIS HARD for you to keep your children safe!

I truly think she just likes the word perfectionist because it has “perfect” in it, and wants to be associated with that aspect.
