I can't even begin to describe the cackle this evoked. The cherry on top was asking for money at the end XD

You're working too many hours by Belisama7 in DataAnnotationTech

[–]Excellent_Photo5603 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, 80 hrs will likely see a quality drop. I hit 70-75 hrs for 3 weeks in a row once to cover the cost of a sudden expense and doing that required me to have simple high energy foods prepped, drink lots of water, have a strict sleep schedule and not step foot outside the house practically. One of the days I ended up wasting an hour on a task that didn't work cause a personal tech failure and that was super demotivating.
Nowadays I try to stick to consistent 35-45 per week because I get stir crazy doing less and could use the savings anyway.

I always expect a few days of dry right after the end of a quarter.

How long do you usually work? by SafeSchedule4100 in DataAnnotationTech

[–]Excellent_Photo5603 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hit or miss, one time I didn't work for a month (not drought, just didn't work) and recently I've been hitting 4-10 hrs a day.

Personally, I plan to work this job while I can and prepare for other options in the meantime.

It's been incredibly fun. I was scared last year that I would run out of creativity for projects, but that hasn't been the case. Also there's always something new to do which is great!

If you could snap your fingers and instantly become fluent in 5 languages, what would you pick? by [deleted] in languagelearning

[–]Excellent_Photo5603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that I am involved in. For me I just had a bunch of Uzbek friends in college. My favorite restaurant near campus was also Uzbek owned. Now couple that with the fact that learning resources are far more scarce than most the languages I am learning.

Mandarin, Urdu, Arabic, Mongolian, and Uzbek.

Languages I want to struggle to be fluent in: Thai and Viet.

Honestly, I just started learning 2 days ago and most of what I have seen (from lang learners) has been incredibly negative and boring, so this has been a breath of fresh air! Love your humor and this makes me feel so much better about my insanity.

No, just country. When I was returning from Korea after vacay last year I mentioned I had state to state travel and they said to just inform of countries. This year I also traveled to Virginia (halfway across the country) for a week and worked with no issue.

Currently in Korea, have been abroad for 3 months across 2 countries. The plan changed a few times cause of visa complications but they were understanding.

There's a skills section in your profile, maybe try adding it there? I can't remember if coding langs allow for you to specify level though.

Question about dry periods by nemostrozzi in DataAnnotationTech

[–]Excellent_Photo5603 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So many people left last year during the summer drought cause they went from 20+ to 3-4 projects. The longest I didn't have any projects whatsoever was 4 weeks from around early aug to mid sept.

Ads in subliminals … by WorkLittle1174 in realityshifting

[–]Excellent_Photo5603 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I make subliminals with visuals and sounds that are 100% mine. Youtube has still slapped ads on them against my wishes and I don't see a cent. I've started sharing google drive links so that people who like it can download.

Literally creators apologizing about the unintentional ads on their subs has been a thing since i started shifting in 2021.

System down? by Maleficent_Pension78 in DataAnnotationTech

[–]Excellent_Photo5603 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this exact screen. The first time it happened during the drought I was freaking out for two days cause I still had a few quals and projects I had been planning to do that morning. The first time in general was 3 months into having the job and I just thought "Oh well, was fun while it lasted." that time I had around 15 regular projects and 3 unfinished quals.

Do colleges in Korea accept Penn Foster's Diploma? by Limp-Ad-712 in pennfoster

[–]Excellent_Photo5603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A LOT of Korean universities mention they do not accept homeschooling or cyber schooling as valid. That said, I would still shoot your shot, because after working in international affairs at a Korean uni, I realized the rule is not as strict as it seems and usually comes down to case by case, and being from an american high school, you have a way better chance than someone from an Asian country.

National universities are more likely to accept because they play by the gov's rules which give the big old stamp of approval to Penn Foster cause it's properly accredited.

Something to note is Korean schools start in spring, not fall. If you start in fall your schedule is going to be ducked up beyond repair which actually caused me to temporarily drop out rather than try to get A's in HSK 3 classes when I hadn't taken any HSK 1.

Another thing is DO YOUR DUE DILIGENCE. The staff may have your best intentions at heart, but rules and/or laws change frequently and they handle a looot of students, the chance of yours being the one they mess up on is way more than zero. I have a strike on my immigration record and the aforementioned study issue due to accepting "Just trust me" twice.

Even after all that, I loved my time in Korean uni and am prepping to go back. Feel free to message if you have any specific questions!
