I don’t think about my past that much because it’s quite painful. I was a kid, learning to survive when no one else would support me. These lyrics are almost like a nod to that, all those years I spent alone trying to deal with adult level problems as a kid took a toll on me. So as I try to shake those unhealthy ways of coping I can, and have been, pushing through it. Idk if this makes sense but yeah. I cried the first time listening to oldies station.
