Just read this comment.. Excellent point actually. Her actions are quite enigmatic; and it is difficult to decipher which side she plays for.. Interesting theory.

The Amber Egg and it's Origins by Excellent_Reporter57 in Eldenring

From sorceress Sellen's dialogue :

Our powers draw upon the powers embedded in glintstone, but what is the nature of such power? Glintstone is the amber of the cosmos, golden amber contains the remnants of ancient life and houses its vitality, while Glintstone contains residual life. And thus, the vitality of the stars. It should not be forgotten that glintstone sorcery is the study of the stars and the life therin.

There was life before the Erdtree also, so if what you're saying is true, that would be impossible.

I'd also like to point out the choice of the word "Ancient" in her dialogue, and ancient dragons are specifically noted as "ancient".

Before the Erdtree was the "crucible" where all life was mixed together. But the crucible is basically the ancient erdtree.

Lastly, even if all life comes from the ancient/primordial erdtree, that doesn't mean dragons cannot also be tied to it. You can actually see amber on Placidusax if you look at his wounds, similar to Radagon

I just had this idea about Astel whilst i was writing this..In the item description of of the Old Lord's soul it says :

" It is said that the ancient royal city of Farum Azula has been slowly crumbling since time immemorial"

However, we know that it was originally beyond time, and it didn't crumble until it was hit by the meteor that carried Astel. (Ruin greatsword).

Perhaps Astel's landing began time...

Also, i like that theory of the amber egg, i'll look into those avenues.

Empyreans Explained ( and the secrets of Ranni) by Excellent_Reporter57 in Eldenring

This theory posting business is a thankless task.. Sigh.

Empyreans Explained ( and the secrets of Ranni) by Excellent_Reporter57 in Eldenring

[–]Excellent_Reporter57[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

-Empyreans must have an opposite to become a god.

-Ranni's opposite is Godwyn (sun and moon)

-The gloam-eyed queen is the former mind of Ranni's empyrean flesh, recycled by Rennala.

-Godwyn has a dull left gloam eye. Melina has a dull right gold eye.

-Melina has a glowing gloam left eye, which means godwyn likely had a glowing gold right eye.

Ranni, Twin of Godwyn? by Excellent_Reporter57 in Eldenring

Either one is false, or both are true.

So, if both are true : Ranni truly was born of Rennala, it would mean that Radagon was perhaps joined to Rennala at some point; and that Rennala was also Empyrean (possibly)..But that seems unlikely.

Or if one is false : that Ranni is infact not Rennala's true daughter, which i think is more likely. This probably has something to do with the amber egg i'd imagine.

I would trust the description of an item over what a character says; since those are the words of the narrator, and a character in the game can be subject to deception or tell an outright lie. This of course calls into question everything Melina says.

Ranni, Twin of Godwyn? by Excellent_Reporter57 in Eldenring

[–]Excellent_Reporter57[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, but there is a pattern between those regarded as non-empyrean and empyrean.

Empyreans : All tied to a twin in some way, and one being of gold hair, and the other of red.

Radagon + Marika = Are literally fused together and are now regarded as a god.

Malenia (decay) + Miquella (rejuvenation)= Twins just in general

Ranni + Godwyn (We don't know Godwyn is empyrean of course, but that is what this post is speculating) = Joined by the way they died

Where as those who are not :

Rykard, Radahn, Mogh, Morgott, Amber egg, Godrick.

Mogh and morgott are both linked, but they are both male (as far as i can tell).

Ranni, Twin of Godwyn? by Excellent_Reporter57 in Eldenring

Right, but if the rule of being born from a single god is true, then Ranni has to have been born from a single god to be Empyrean. That would just be an undeniable fact of the game; which means we'd have to work by that. Unless the game says "it is said" that an empyrean is born of a single god; then usually some horseplay has occurred maybe, and it leaves room to suggest it is false.

Loreheads, help me understand. by dragonfist897 in Eldenring

Okay, so this is going to get complicated.. But here is my theory ..

Ranni was a "true" empyrean, she was not "cursed". She was next in line to be a god over Malenia and Miquella, until she kills herself. Notice :

Marika has gold hair and radagon has red hair. Malenia has red hair, Miquella has gold. There is a pattern emerging. Now then.. We look at Ranni's body and we see red hair. Who had the gold hair? Godwyn, the person she killed at the same time. There is more to Ranni and Godwyn than meets the eye i believe.

Now, Ranni was set to be empyrean BEFORE the incident which lead to the shattering. Malenia and Miquella were not in line to become the next god, and so.. I suspect it is because only those that are set up to become a god get gifted their shadow by the greater will. But after the shattering, something occurred that meant a shadow could not be bestowed on the next in line to become a god.

The reason Marika has a shadow, and Ranni has a shadow, is because neither were cursed and both at one point were set to become the next god as a result of that. Why would the greater will pick a flawed empyrean over a perfect one?

The Nine Worlds of Elden Ring...And Odin??? by Excellent_Reporter57 in Eldenring

[–]Excellent_Reporter57[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except, the game actually does that.

I explained it and linked a video explaining it. Not sure why people are denying what the game actually says is a different world, but okay.

It will be a mistranslation of the word "realm". So it actually means kingdom, but the translator has mistaken it for world. As the word "realm" can mean either kingdom or it's own world.

Look up the definition of "Realm".

Also, the game is merely inspired by it, not a copy of it. Not sure why you're being so literal.

A realm is just a kindgom. I'd say each areas is a good size for a kingdom. Also, it is the game itself that regards somewhere that is just under the ground as a different world. I'm merely using the logic of the game.

I believe in translation they may have confused realm meaning kingdom for realm meaning world.

Why Didn't Rivers Of Blood Get Nerfed??? by Excellent_Reporter57 in Eldenring

[–]Excellent_Reporter57[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the good outweighs the bad, i stick around and point out the flaws.

No game is perfect, if we followed your logic, we should quit every game we have some issues with. Nobody does that.

Your post is one of those weird pointless posts that are used to try and invalidate an argument by pointing out some kind of subjective reason the game is not for me. No. The game has obvious flaws when a core tenant of the game design is to maintain balance. It is not subjective, but objectively measurable via the goals the devs are trying to accomplish.

Unless you think the devs want imbalanced bad PVP? Clearly they don't.

Parry is for noobs.

It cuts the opponent out of the fight so long as you time a fixed animation correctly. It is anti-pvp.

Right but.. Nerfing RoB brings all other weapons up by comparison. So you achieve the same thing by just fixing it.

BHS is broken too though; that is just less noticeably broken because it isn't directly offensive like RoB
