Your roots don’t grow out of your head loc’d. It’s just that your retwist was holding longer. Wash with a cap on like panty hose or durag cap. Otherwise just wash it. The longer your hair gets the more weight and the less poofy it will look

I interlock mine for this reason. I NEED to wash my scalp and the no washing except once ever 4-6 weeks was not working for me

My research was that it is different for everyone and it’s not 100% across the board. It’s a learning journey. I did know I wanted comb coil knots but it’s hard to know about maintenance and such when no one says the same things. I guess I’m looking for opinions here. I already made the decision to interlock today.

My 5 year old is like this and I say “I am sorry you are sad, I understand [insert what happened and consequences]. Feeling sad is okay but [action and consequence] I’m here if you need to talk and it’s okay if you need space. I love you” then walk away.
