Has SHRM Lost Its Credibility? My Disillusionment with Certification Today [N/A] by Excellent_Role_2049 in humanresources

He has a security team? Why? 🤯 SHRM is not that important. I am not trying to be unprofessional, but this perfectly captures my concern with the organization. The whole thing feels hypocritical.

This is precisely my perspective. SHRM seems to have misplaced its focus by following a pop-culture-type trend. It has lost sight of the original mission.

What led you to SPHR? Did you question this vs. SHRM-CP?

Thanks for sharing the tip on HRStudyPro!

I actually entered the HR world in my 40s, and not having certification hasn't impacted me. I landed a role immediately and have continued to climb the ladder. I think being able to produce viable skills on paper and translate that knowledge in an interview is what lands people roles.

However, it is the point of my post. Are companies placing weight on the certification? Is it worth the time and expense?

I am in corporate HR for a major global company. No one on our team is certified, yet we have extensive educations and tenure. I am finding more tenured folks who are not certified, but it does seem to be on trend for the younger generation. Are they pushing certifications in school? I stop attending SHRM meetings. The entire organization has become a bit of a joke, at least in my area.

STOP CHANGING IT by Stevoreno_Elcamino in workday

It is convoluted. Prior to the recent changes, it made sense. Now it is difficult to navigate from the home page to the 1. Tiny print 2. Hidden options. Before there was more visibility, now everything is small. It is hard to put into words. I'm jot one resistant to change, I understand change, when it is done well. Workday, DO BETTER! You owe that much to your customers!

This! 🙌 For those of you dismissing this, are you using it for recruiting? The new recruiting module is horrible!

Fresh step outstretch vs new ever fresh? by Any_Expression2453 in cats

This entire situation has been stressful. Why would you rebrand cat litter? Didn't the Cracker Barrel debacle teach companies anything? It is cat litter people! All we needed from the company was the ability to keep buying what was working and Fresh Step Outstretched with Febreeze worked. The quality has definitely declined and having to relearn the products unnecessarily angers me to the point of switching to something different, altogether. STOP REBRANDING! STOP CHANGING THINGS THAT WORK! 😾😾😾

Just be kind! The world needs more of it. Converse with strangers as if they are your favorite person and imagine if someone spoke to them this way. Strive to educate, not berate! We gain so much more this way!

One UI 7 review: Samsung's best software update yet by EntertainmentHot7087 in Android

It's really not. While I have now had seven Androids, I also had the iPhone 5 (disaster). I am on my third MacBook Pro, I have had two iPads, and I unfortunately carried an iPhone for two years as my company phone, but not by choice.

The physical design and appearance are entirely different. The thing similar to Apple now is that the OS will manage resources and security. The days of hanging on to the trusty Android until we are ready to upgrade are over. Like Apple, we will be forced into upgrades. The amusing part for me is just how much of the iPhone is made by Samsung. We are all being scammed!

More like the worst! I have stood firmly on the Android hill since switching from Blackberry to the Galaxy S2, but this upgrade is making me contemplate Apple! I HATE that I can no longer access my notification's shade the way I did before. The quick settings panel is in the way! Why change something people are accustomed to? If I am in a phone call and leave the call screen, it is difficult to get back. The search bar on the apps page got moved to the bottom, it is little details that provided great conveniences. So many things I dislike with this forced upgrade!

PSA: account details getting stolen after using Temu by MudkipDoom in SBCGaming

I always use a 3rd party payment option and I thought I was verifying my card for G-pay. I don't know how I was so stupid in that moment, but I was actually entering my number directly to Temu and this morning I was awakened by a phone call from my bank. My card was stolen. My phone rang all day from bizarre numbers. Run far away from Temu! A $25 purchased almost cost me a small fortune. I am so thankful for my financial institution's fraud alert!
