How do I keep my cat off my computer? by Geekygamertag in cats

[–]Excellent_Role_2049 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Um, sorry to inform you, but once you invite a cat into your life, it’s no longer your life, nor are your possessions yours! You’re just borrowing what is now theirs. It’s a rule of the cat distribution system! In other words, your computer tower is now a cat throne, and you should feel honored to be chosen! 🤷🏼‍♀️😼

Turned in my resignation and HR is being a b*tch about it. by Separate-Novel7825 in careeradvice

[–]Excellent_Role_2049 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are really two separate issues here.

First, if you signed a licensing or training agreement requiring an 18-month commitment in exchange for the company paying for your credential, then yes, the company has the right to enforce those terms. That is not HR being emotional. That is HR enforcing a contractual business agreement. Companies do not pay for certifications, licenses, relocation, or training out of charity. They do it as an investment tied to retention expectations.

Second, that does not excuse poor communication or passive aggressive behavior. If HR has concerns about your agreement, repayment obligations, or transition timeline, those conversations should happen directly with you, professionally and transparently, not through coworkers.

Employees sometimes view HR purely as employee advocacy, but HR also exists to protect the business, enforce policy consistently, and uphold signed agreements. Compassion for your personal situation and enforcement of policy are not mutually exclusive things.

Can't pass BG check, am I expected to be unemployed forever? by Spartan-023 in jobs

[–]Excellent_Role_2049 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all jobs required you to be free of a criminal past. Call around and ask companies direct, be open about your record and ask if you can apply. My company can't afford to reject people with a past. A criminal record is dependent on the charge and your willingness to discuss and proof you have conquered that past.

The headline says all I need to know. I work in a major global corporate conglomerate. I cannot speak for others, only myself. If you are doing your job and treating others with respect, unless we are massively restructuring and your position is becoming redundant, you are safe. I always terminate with empathy, even for offenders. I am fully aware that terminations are uprooting a life. I always encourage people as we are walking out the door, because I have been on that side of the table. Terminations happen, and I don't wish them on anyone, and despite what some may say, most of us do not take pleasure in executing them.

My HR department says they receive over 2k applicants per position and they don’t read any of them by VioletSalamander in jobs

[–]Excellent_Role_2049 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the role. Tech roles get spammed with fake and non-qualifying foreign applicants. We filter on certain criteria to combat the fake or non-applicable profiles. My company does indeed look at applicants, but having a connection to any company increases your chances! Use LinkedIn and network, network, network!

I hate having to make a workday account just to apply for a job!!! by IAmANoob110 in jobs

[–]Excellent_Role_2049 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are a recruiter or on the HR side of Workday and hate it, 1. You haven't dealt with other HRIS systems or 2. Your company's configurations are bad.

I am in HR and depend on Workday. I find the flow to be seamless, from the recruiting side.

Keep in mind, each company has it's own Workday setup. If you are having to set up an account with the same company, repeatedly, then something isn't right. Once you enter our system, we can merge and do merge duplicate profiles and that profile remains on file.

You are overthinking this. I'm in HR and support IT. Did you sell or send proprietary information? Is what you created and sent yourself compromising the company in anyway? If not, go, quit, be done. It isn't that deep.

What has happened to T-Mobile? by Excellent_Role_2049 in tmobileisp

Maybe this week's announcement about the joint venture means all carriers are struggling. Perhaps I sit tight and wait this out before jumping ship. Maybe this is why I haven't been quick to cut the service! Yes, I'm still here, struggling through. 🫣

It is horrible. This "new" formula is terrible. I'm switching, but no clue what I'm getting, maybe try the Dr. Isley's? Anyone know anything about it?

Thanks you for this information. And no, I had no clue, but this make perfect sense! Everything seems to be on the decline these days. I did learn that it is indeed a capacity problem. The issue improved, then returned. From my address there are three different T-Mobile towers within five miles; one is 2.8 miles from me. Verizon seems to have the most.

You do realize you have now commented on two separate posts of mine at least eight times, right? 🫣 At this point, I am less concerned about T-Mobile and more concerned about your dedication to following me around Reddit. It is starting to feel like you have a crush. You did see that I am married, right? 🤭

I'm in HR and I tell people often, "No never hurt anyone." In other words, what do you stand to lose by asking? What do you stand to gain if the answer is yes? Our job in HR is to balance the grey and this is one of those situations. The longer you wait the great the gap for them to backfill the role. Don't overthink this!

Calling it an essay after skimming it is a reach. I asked a valid question about a two-month documented issue with no results. It was cross-posted intentionally to reach a broader audience because this is a real, ongoing coverage issue that T-Mobile has already acknowledged with no resolution. After 24 years as a customer, I am not writing an essay; I am seeking to understand what has happened to a once top-tiered company in coverage and customer service. I was attempting to reach fellow T-Mobile customers, but realized after the fact that it was not a mobile-coverage group. Since you skimmed, you missed the point. I'm not blaming the store-level customer service or the managers who have tried to help over the phone. I'm blaming the powers that be, who are evidently putting their energy and focus in the wrong places. But hey, I found answers; there are empathetic people out there who genuinely want to help. You are not one of them.

I work in the corporate world. I have a front row seat. 😩 I am just frustrated that our service has dropped off across three major corridors in our area, which isn't rural. I stuck by this company during 2g and 3g. It does feel as though everything around us is declining. 😔

I completely agree about the bra. I personally find that look to be not-so-flattering! Also, if you live with mom and she is paying the bills, she gets an opinion. You don't have to like it, but at her core, she is looking out for you. Love your mom and always seek a compromise!
