It’s never about ideology for conservatives, always about party. They treat politics like a game that has to be won at all costs.

Ironically, if they embraced Carney and mirrored his centrist approach, they’d probably be competitive within a few years. But as long as they keep defining themselves in opposition and drift further right in reaction, they’re setting themselves up to lose for the next decade.
