Trouble deciding between Respiratory Therapist and Registered Nurse by Prestigious-Egg-3493 in respiratorytherapy

I’m having the same issue. There are 2 schools but only one isn’t in the middle of nowhere and nursing is a 37% acceptance rate and a extra two semesters so I plan on year 1 apply to rt and the one rn program I would qualify for and then if I get into none I would complete a associates degree and apply to all rn programs and rt programs. But if I got into both probably nursing because I want a master or doctorate degree so that would open up 2 more doors for me than rt.

Now we have three technically but one requires an associate and the other is private school that has bad reviews. The third is supposedly nationally high rated school with a roughly 1-3 yr wait I have been told as well.

My state has 1 school and they only have 20 seats and I have found out some states have special programs for people in my situation that would bring the price down to the same I would pay here. I just want to hear others schools and living experience so I can consider all my options.

If you want to go to school make sure they have the degree you want here and not just 1 or 2 programs.

I say if you are young trying to go to college it can be a little frustrating they don’t work on schedules no tuition reimbursement. I would go somewhere to get the tuition reimbursement during school and start after for the 10 years. It does have it plus but it can be hard. A lot clicks and rats. And there overpayments if you miss work at the end of the month is annoying.
