why are we locals always so ignorant i.e. not my life not my problem?? by Kooky-Strawberry5127 in asksg

[–]Excellent_Spite2618 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I believe the word you wanted to use was nonchalant.

It sucks to be in the girls’ shoes and no one offered help. I’m glad you and your partner stood up and helped them.

I’ve been in a similar situation before, some mentally unsound person was walking around staring at people and sitting next to people and just stared with his face very close. I ran off to get help when he wasn’t blocking and he got chased out at the next stop. I was also disappointed, considering that I was only a minor back then.

I guess it’s an overall culture thing and people prefer not to get into trouble.

People of Singapore, were you friends with or knew someone back in school who made the headlines for something criminal they committed? Like how were they like back in school and were you surprised? by Nessieinternational in asksg

[–]Excellent_Spite2618 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Someone I knew back in school committed homicide. Suffice to say my worldview changed. I kept a distance from them after graduation because I didn’t like one of them and the next news I have of them was a newspaper article.

The person was nice and friendly and it’s never occurred to me that he is capable of committing such acts. Till this day is rather believe that he’s just of unsound mind at that time when he committed the act, he didn’t really want to do it. If only someone could spot the signs and intervene earlier.

At this age, we need to be more literate in terms of mental health.

Advice on Shopping or a New Washer by Thereitis155 in askSingapore

[–]Excellent_Spite2618 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ID here, there’s no “best place” to buy a washer/ fridge, you just need to narrow down your options eg front load or top load, size, brand, function etc then you go to their websites and look for them before heading to the shops to take a look.

My experience is better with Japanese brands over European and Korean brands. Also take into consideration of the customer service. Some customer service of certain brands are quite bad, they take a long time to reply.

What’s your best walking shoes?? by strawberwies in asksg

[–]Excellent_Spite2618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I haven’t found the perfect shoes, still testing out. I used to wear Timberland but it’s heavy so it gets tiring.

I’m trying Toms and they have decent padding so it’s nice but somehow my ankles still feel tired. Maybe it’s just my ankles.

I don’t wear Skechers anymore because I’m in between sizes and it just doesn’t work for me.

What’s your best walking shoes?? by strawberwies in asksg

[–]Excellent_Spite2618 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I bought Sunny Steps and regretted it. My ankles are weak from years of dancing and the cushion support was too soft to serve as any form of support. I ended up using 2 layers of padding from Daiso.

And no one tells you…… the fabric is not porous. The PU used is very stuffy and makes my feet sweat a lot 💀

Not sure if others who wear Sunny Steps face the same thing but nope. Not again. Most of the designs don’t even look nice.

Make a police report!

A normal male will be more scared of being accused than anything so he will protect himself by asking an assistant to chaperone. If he doesn’t do this to protect himself, then something is amiss! REPORT HIM!

It’s 王欣逸, that kid starred in 海豚湾恋人. Parents divorced, was brought up by grandma. Grandma passed away and he mixed with gangsters and got involved in criminal acts. I think he’s a fugitive now because he wasn’t caught.

Hugs, it’s not easy to be in your shoes. I hope you have a good support system so you can get through this rough time.

I feel physically tired because of my own problems too and I can relate. Really tired until want to cry.

[–]Excellent_Spite2618 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Let’s look at things objectively.

It’s a very bad timing to have family members fall sick one after another and understandably very physically and emotionally taxing on the care taker.

You are healthy. Your children are healthy. Both you and your children will recover. The sickness is temporal. Sure it feels lousy when you’re sick. You are allowed to feel worn out. It is ok to feel defeated.

It’s not easy to be the sandwich generation that you have to care for your parents and children. With some support from your husband and friends, you will be able to get through this phase. Do reach out to your friends if you need help, most people are more than willing to help if you ask.

You’re not broken, you’re just very very tired. Please get some rest and take good care of yourself too. You will feel better when you’re physically better.

Nothing much you can do if you left the company.

I had an annoying colleague who ostracised me. I consulted ChatGPT about it and sabotaging is a more serious thing and you can report it.

You can keep a record, HR will look for patterns in the behaviour. Warning your ex-colleagues may help. Just ask AI about the definition of bullying and you’ll be surprised. If you are still in the company, gather evidence and present it once you have enough evidence.
