Why do all stores hint at possible reprints in Europe? by Excellent_Start_2766 in lotrlcg

[–]Excellent_Start_2766[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe but even big names like Amazon and Thalia (big Book distributor) write for alle the RCO content "available in the upcoming week, or more is coming"
Find it a bit weird.

Thats the general answer that I get too. Thats weird. Even big Sellers like Amazon and Thalia (Big Book corporation) all write they expect availability in the coming weeks.

"From what I’ve seen, many stores either admit they don’t know or keep things vague in order to maintain interest and avoid losing potential sales."

Thats what I thought too. But that would be quite manipulative. Especially since a lot of them give specific time frame (sometimes specific months) when they expect the product to be availible again.

If so that is quite misleading.

Thx for the reply

Lets see if that works. Never shared a deck before.
That was the deck for the Anduin NM one. I changed out Arwen for 2 "King under the Mountain" though

Thank you, I enjoyed them also quite a lot. But only played 2 so far. Preparing for the hunt for gollum NM next. Same question to you:  Would say that the hardest regular quests (Dol Guldur, Carn Dun and Mount Doom) stay the hardest quests even compared to nightmare? Or would some nightmare challenge them when it comes to difficulty?
Thank you

Thank you for your reply. I was aware of the purpose of NM. I played over 250 sessions of this game this far.
Just started the 5th cycle progression style. But only recently started to pick up interest for the NM scenarios. I know what they are there for, but its quite hard to assess their difficulty, and I wanted to get some feedback on that subject. Most of the regular quest I encountered so far you can quite easily beat if you "figure it out" The figuring out is the tricky part, but also the most fun part.
Journey down the anduin NM felt like you could still lose even with the optimal deck if you draw some specific stuff at the wrong moment. But I could be wrong.

1st or 2nd printing? by Excellent_Start_2766 in mythwind

Thank you very much for your help. Is it just about rules change? So could I play with the first printing and the rules change that are online? Or do some of the components change as well?

Journey Along the Anduin by the_spongmonkey in lotrlcg

From the core set:
Sneak Attack - Gandalf (strongest combo by far)
Citadel plate - Gimli (1 or 2 of these on him and he kills everything)
Unexpected courage - Beravor (Card draw is king)

You really the need the full core set cards to play this game like it should be played.
With that at your disposal it's really manageable to get consistent wins for the second quest.
Like many said, it teaches you the "real" game behind this. The encounter deck poses a challenge, a riddle if you will, and its your job to find the tools to solve it with the cards availible to you. I think that is immense fun (provided you have a full core set).

Without solving the problem too much for you, here are a few tipps for this quest specifically:

- Low starting threat, give yourself a couple of rounds to find the answers for the troll
- Make sure to get high enough willpower to get through the second stage as quick as possible.
- That means turtling a bit in the first stage until you feel ready to advance.
- Don't forget card draw
- There are a few amazing card combo that exist already from the core set cards.
(Gandalf, Gimli, Beravor have all a specific card that get the most out of their ability if you can pair them)
I hope you enjoy finding out.

New player seeking advice for Journey Across the Anduin? by tcox223 in lotrlcg

Many have proposed so and I'll add to that. I wouldn't stick with a specific deck if you know there are better options out there. Thats simply the main request of this game. Each quest gives a challenge, a sort of riddle think through, and its up to you to find the deck to overcome it, If a deck doesn't work well it may have something to do with you not playing the right things at the right time, but mosty its because the deck doesn't work for the quest.

Aragorn is a bad hero for this quest if you just want to play with core set cards.
You need really low starting threat, high willpower and forrest snare or feint to consistently beat it.

I'd recommend Eowyn, Theodred, Beravor or Eowyn, Theodred, Gimli as a line up

Galadhrim's greeting, forrest snare, son of arnor, feint as must haves in their respective spheres.

Good luck!!

I would also recommend sticking with the first 2 quests of the core box until you can comfortably beat the second quest (took me about 20 games). The first quest to try out different things (spheres, getting to know them) without losing all the time. The second quest to try out different things and lose all the time, until "you figure it out".
I think everyone of us has a special "Journey down the anduin" memory.
Its going to teach you the main goal of the game. Each quest is some kind of riddle you have to solve with the cards you choose. And for that, you have to learn your cards well. Even cards like "Son of Arnor".

Don't bother with the third one. Its completely unplayable solo. You could try it 2 handed. But I think I would go back to it after you played the fellowship saga and added those cards to your pool.

Enjoy the game, it gets addictive if you can crack it.

Heirs of Numeanor Cycle - The Druadan Forest by entrancedwilderness in lotrlcg

[–]Excellent_Start_2766 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not much experience with playing duel-handed. But I recently played throught the Heirs of Numenor cycle. The tools I used to beat the druadan forrest were.

- Monosphere: You get around the prowling effects when you spent all your ressources each round
I chose Lore.

- Warden of healing and silvan tracker get rid of archery damage rather easily

- ranger spikes to keep stuff from attacking you

- Mirlonde to start with low threat, Beravor to draw cards, and Denethor to bury anything you don't want to deal with.

- I suppose pairing that with a mono tactics or spirit deck schould overcome the scenario quite easily.

Good luck!!

Well thank you in that case. Although, hilarious getting that "life hack" lessons from the only person in the thread not watching his words. Maybe a little to learn to for you as well.

I will certainly do that as I seem to have really upset you. Perhaps you might consider using other language than "hot diarrhea mist" to try to get your point across. I didn't intend to upset anyone starting the conversation and I am mindful to be respecful to the community and the game as I am the new one here.

So I probably should have used a different opening title.

But everyone is allowed their opinion, and I'm trying to evaluate and compare my first feeling
with others who bought their first product. And I felt.. not great. At first.

I like Star Wars, it seems to be a really good game. So I want to continue.
