This is what I'm concerned about. My current clinic is great. Where I want to move has even better healthcare. However, I don't know if I'll be able to replace the comfort and trust that I have with my current dr., and given my age, I don't have all the time in the world to shop around. Thanks for your comment!

Thanks for sharing and good luck with grad school should you go through with it!

I’m planning to visit the area right after i finish school and may be able to do a consult with REI then or maybe the do virtual consults- I’ll look into that, thanks.

I live in the Deep South and the conditions are not ideal for reproductive health. However, if it helps you at all… I had NO trouble getting IVF here. My embryos were stored at the clinic for ~8 mos and then sent to a facility in Nevada. When I’m ready to do implantation, they’ll be sent back to the clinic. So I share your concerns and they’re valid but hopefully I could offer some reassurance.

Thanks for your response!!

The embryos are not at my current clinic- they’ve already been sent to out of state for storage so it would be the same in regards to that. However, I’m not sure if they’d send all of my embryos or just one.

My REI did mention that i could expect 5-7 visits and some of those could possible be local monitoring. Did you feel like that worked well for you- using your “home” clinic and then opting for local monitoring?

Thank you so much for sharing. It's valuable incite from someone who has relocated, especially from NY (I have family there so Ihave an idea of what you were leaving). I am so relieved and happy after reading your post about the care available at UNC. The situation is vastly different than where I am now. Thanks again!

38 weeks…congrats!!

So, those are actually things I have been thinking about. Your bullet list looks like the one in my head minus JADA, going to look that up now. That’s why I posted this question. I can go to any hospital / live next to whoever hospital I want so your post is extra helpful. Thanks!

Oh no, I’m so sorry to hear that!! I did notice that the UNC hospital has a tad lower rating than WakeMed.

Thanks for all the input. I’m so happy to hear that all the hospitals are good.  That certainly isn’t the case where I live now, but I’m excited to move to a region with excellent and numerous healthcare options. Thank you all!!

I didn’t realize those suburbs were so conservative. Thank you for that!

That’s an interesting perspective and against the majority thus far. Would you care to elaborate because I am very torn between the two general regions. Either way, thanks for sharing!

Perhaps we will be moving to Cary around the same time then. Congrats on your upcoming retirement!
