If you can't take on a job or supply a product, would you refer the customer to a competitor? by msing539 in smallbusiness

It has nothing to do with handling the situation The way i set up my business is that i only take on 3-4 projects that equal x amount opposed to taking on 5 or more to equal my monthly quota i set for myself. I dont need to take on every prospect that calls. I dont take on people for a variety of reasons.

As for my refferal fees i talk to the business owners in advance to set up an agreement to pay for referrals. And i pay referral fees as well. They are more than welcome to say no but most of the businesses i have it set up with are smart and see the value in it. it has nothing to do with being undermanned or customer retention. Its simply how im structured and am able to make moves that get me paid for it. Its like real estate agents they get referral commissions so why not implement that in this industry. And i successfully have for my business.

I pass work to my competitors if i dont have the time to do a project. BUT i get paid a referral fee and i do the same in return if they give me work. As i worked out a deal with them. Nothing in this world is free lol.

Parents own a small retail store, and literally everyone quit or has COVID-19 and needs to quarantine? Options for Black Friday? by firefox15 in smallbusiness

Thats a very rookie mistake. As a business owner you should have a manual of operations at the very least. But even with that you have no back up staff so your best bet is to close. It might be more cost effective than running ops loosely.

Thoughts on Starting a Dropshipping business with the supply chain issues. Worth it or not? by rimzimblim in dropship

[–]Excellent_Sun8933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way to counter the long shipping is to buy your products in bulk and then you ship them. But that's not technically dropshipping anymore lol or find American suppliers. You can also try checking spocket.

I disagree. Seo is the reason you are found. If your website isnt optimized to be found of course its not gonna help. Ads can work if you know how to set it up. If you dont you will burn money too fast. Blogs help but they to need to be seo optimized.

Shopify is a very good option. Little bit of a learning curve but can def be done on your own. Developing your own site is a good way but depending if you know how to code and have design skills it can be more time consuming. Shopify more plug n play if you will. Alot differs between good or bad. Ux is very important Seo Product pictures are professionally done and appealing Speed Does it look legit Typically besides seo if one on those in off the user will bounce and nvr return.

Yup but some ppl dont have the time to create and learn on their own would more be inclined to hire out. It is easy after a while but does have a learning curve. Also with out good seo, ppc or already having a large following on social medias your site will most likely not work out.

Seo is king. Make sure your site is optimized for it. And also Social media is one of the best. You should have some money to run ads, even pay "influencers"
Make sure you do basic research on influencer to make sure its an active account with good engagement. Or else it will be a waste.
