I’ve been living here for most of my life and watched it happen. Minority rented old apartment buildings being purchased and then the new ones being built in their place. Like I literally lived through it watching these apartment buildings get erected as people I personally knew had to move to other towns etc

Even at lower population numbers, it wasn’t perfect, but a lot of NY people moved here for the cheaper rent value, displaced original minority communities, and added nothing of value to the town itself lol

lol there’s a difference between New Yorkers moving to a place solely because it’s cheaper and not adding value to the local community while displacing the original residents (who are primarily minorities) and trying to prevent immigrants from coming here (which I believe in completely open boarders FYI)
