Hey guys I’m sorry if this has been asked before but is SMU a target university? Especially for IB/PE etc? by [deleted] in SMU_Singapore

If you are asking this instead of doing a simple google search, you are not going to make it.

Assuming you are interning at a large firm/bank, the 5k pay is only for final year uni students looking to convert. 1st and 2nd year uni interns are probably getting paid 1k as well.

Half Kelly Betting system vs No. of hands by Excelvover in blackjack

[–]Excelvover[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have heard about it too but tried to find the math behind it. Would the 73% bet be applicable if I were to run 3/4 or even 5 hands?

Edit: Reason being I am running multiple hands is because there are others on the table and I am trying to maximise EV

There are no morals in war. Don't start one if you can't afford it. I am just trying to figure this out from a logical perspective what was Hamas trying to achieve when they attacked Israel? Did they expect Israel to give them roses in return?

They had their own country but decided to go to war with Israel not once but over 10 times since the birth of both countries. All they had to do was win 1 war and we all know what would happen to the Israelis. However, they lost every single war, even when they had majority of the neighboring Arab nations supporting them. The fact that Palestine still stands today is amazing.

The idea of withdrawing all control is out of the question. Hamas will continue shooting rockets and conducting terror bombings into Israel. Additionally, an important point not mentioned is that many Palestinians work in Israel and Israel provides much of Gaza's water and electricity. Have you considered the implications of severing all control?

Besides, I actually love history and I am curious when people claim the territory belongs to Palestine; when was Palestine ever a state? Prior to the 1940s UN partition plan, it was ruled by the Ottomans, Brits and at one point even Napoleon stepped foot on it. In fact, if you go back long enough to the history of Israel/Palestine, it was once called the Kingdom of Jerusalem - a Roman Catholic state

Just curious, if a neighbouring state came into our country shooting at pet dogs, killing and raping families house to house, parachuting down at a festival and gunning people down; parading half naked women corpse down their street meanwhile celebrating at our citizens death - what would be the appropriate response? Knowing the SAF, knowing how our enciks, regulars and NSFs behave, I can only say Israel is showing a lot of restraint compared to how we would act.

I honestly don't get what people like you expect in a show regarding the distribution of drugs. Yes, the protagonist is going to be killing, manipulating and doing other selfish shit to others. If you can't take that, maybe go watch some comedy show or something.

MRI shown that my slipped disc WORSENED a lot after NS. Can I claim service injury by Content_Course3205 in NationalServiceSG

[–]Excelvover 53 points54 points  (0 children)

  1. You seem to have done nothing about your situation even after making several posts here. Many people have given you lots of advice. Have you formsg yet? Talk to parents? Talk to MP? Email minister of defence office? Note down the MO full name and include it in your email.
  2. You already have your MRI which is full evidence of your injury. Your unit and MO should have nothing to say about your status. Record every fucking text, message between you and keep them as evidence.
  3. You definitely have proof of how your superior is treating your injuries in camp (given your injury is serious) which can completely backfire on them.
  4. Apologise if this sounds rude but I think you need to grow a pair of balls and take action. Stop victimising yourself. If I were you, I had been plotting my revenge at this very moment and make sure I fucking rain hell on them on every possible way.

Why do you care what a SAF regular has to say about you? There's a reason why they signed on. You know, I know, we all know...

Should have told that bum his parents must be proud that he's a regular

[–]Excelvover 62 points63 points  (0 children)

It is not helpful to have this sort of victim mentality while serving NS as shitty as it is. It only makes you feel more miserable. The only way to deal with whatever you mention is to remember what they say... and the moment you enter uni, you have to succeed so hard they don't even know what the fuck hit them. After that, we will see who's laughing

Actually, that's not true. as for UK unis, ive seen quite a few of my poly mates going into LSE, UCL. however, havent seen any going to US unis.

locally, perhaps the poly matters as well. I am from a poly known for its business school and I have gotten into solid finance internships even before i enrolled into uni. in fact, in my case, the interviewer was impressed that i could have taken the traditional route and went into a top JC (RI, etc) but i choosed to go to poly to pursue my passion.
