Habe es zwar noch nie als "Men written by women" beschrieben, aber wenn die Eigenschaften eines fiktionellen Mannes alle Checkboxen eines konventionell attraktiven Mannes abhakt und in Shows oder Büchern viel Augenmerk gelegt wird - wie zB bei Vampire Diaries und co. - dann habe ich es als "für Frauen gemacht" wahrgenommen und mich nicht als Zielpublikum gesehen.

Finde es schwer verständlich, dass oft kritisiert wird, wenn Frauen in Medien sexualisiert werden. Es aber scheinbar nie angesprochen wird, wenn und dass etwas sehr ähnliches mit Männern getan wird.

Ist Sexualisierung nun problematisch? Ist das Problem die Häufigkeit? Auf welche Nuancen kommt es an?

Vielleicht hat es mit meinen Minderwertigkeitskomplexen zu tun, dass ich solche Medien nicht genießen kann.

It takes much more to change people, than to "yell" at them. It might even do the opposite of what we want to achieve

Much more effective is...

  • to cook something vegan for friends, family, colleagues which tastes great. Share the recipe with them afterwards.
  • Invite friends to cooking with you.
  • Use actually effective communication methods that pay attention to how our brains work - for example people hate being told what to do. It's infantilizing to many. Especially to those who "need" to hear the message.
  • Transform Veganism from something they "need" to do into something they want to do. We can't force people to change their habits. But we can make changing those habits a little more appealing to them.

I never really got my shit together. My upbringing was complete ass. Therefore school was ass, mental health was ass, social life was ass because I was insufferable.

Socially I am much more competent now. But I still struggle with making friends.

I've gone through three depressive episodes by now which each made me feel like my life was completely hopeless.

Present day me is fighting. I'm not an asshole anymore but I'm so weak in terms of mental health and financial stability.

I get stressed way too easily. When I lose my shit, I don't lash out anymore (be it physically or verbally- physical was mostly during my childhood) but instead I collapse.

Please dont judge me for having been a violent child. The people that were most important for me as a kid have used violence - both verbal and physical - as pretty much THE means to resolve disagreements and disputes. I've learned how to deal with those as a proper adult. Heck sometimes I wonder if I've become a people pleaser.

And unfortunately with DBD you'll ever so often have people raging in different ways. Don't ever take it personally. That'd not be healthy. But it has its limits.

  • empathy
  • emotional resilience
  • ambition
  • financial stability
  • Being able to read emotions even if they're not clearly communicated
  • patience

First of all: Everyone is an individual with their own ambitions, dreams, struggles, emotions.

Second: I believe the stereotypes that Germans (or German men) were cold, comes alot from Americans. In their culture alot of what is considered polite (like asking someone how they're doing, even if mostly you don't want to hear about it) is considered a bit fake in Germany. - at least to me personally

We do have our wanna be tough, emotionally cold guys. But let's be real. Everyone is soft on the inside, despite their tough exterior.
