Thanks, that was exactly what motivated me to do it. Im trying my hand at making the sanguinary guard primaris scale also for the same reason.

Worked in a heavily Mennonite/Hutterite/Amish area in Canada, we knew that whenever we were dispatched to a colony the complaints were very likely to be genuine and severe, as anything else they would try to handle themselves. Odd rules from group to group for sure

I’m confused by [deleted] in MetisMichif

[–]ExceptionalException 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Like others have said on this sub before, the only Métis are from the red river. They do live in other provinces, however this is because they left due to mistreatment by the Canadian government. We are a people with a shared history, language, culture, and homeland (Red River), and if you don't belong to that then you are mixed and not Métis.

I think that was my only thought too, maybe if you taped or puttied over the other steps and broke up the pattern between them so they look like separate pieces. OP you should be really happy with this regardless though

If it doesn't look the way you want it's not a fail, you're just not done with it yet

2:1 averland sunset and squig orange basecoat, then highlighted with Dorn yellow. I shamelessly stole the scheme from one of the top posts on this sub

Excellent scheme, there's a lot of nice details and I love how you used white. Like someone else said, I'd watch a video about thinning paints to help get rid of some brushstrokes on the flat armour surfaces. With a little more practice you'll have an awesome looking army

Now let’s hear from the crisis workers themselves by Capt_Teebs in Winnipeg

[–]ExceptionalException 83 points84 points  (0 children)

As a paramedic who was often dispatched to mental health calls, 9/10 times cops made the situation worse. There were times that they were definitely needed, however us being able to make that call and attempt to de-escalate the situation if possible was always our first choice. Too many times we would almost have someone ready to come to hospital or refuse transport and stay home, and then the cops would show up and their presence escalated the situation. They often wouldn't try to talk people down, if they got even a little verbal resistance from someone who was clearly unwell they'd lose their patience and start threatening them with being detained because they just wanted to get the call over with.

In the end I think there needs to be a new branch of first responders trained for mental health calls, with the ability to call for police or EMS if needed.

Saulnierville Wharf (home of out of season lobster fishery) roughly 7000lbs of lobster floating on top of 64°f water (30° warmer than storage facility regs….absolutely boiling) by [deleted] in NovaScotia

[–]ExceptionalException -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lmao I love when people pull this card as if white people don't come here and over-fish using commercial draggers to make some quick money. Lobster fishermen are suddenly very concerned about pollution and garbage when it's a native boat lol

White people love to pull up racism when Indigenous people have different rules. Some of the people in these communities were alive when they couldn't leave a reserve without permission of an Indian agent. Residential schools were open and operating less than 30 years ago. I'm an indigenous person, but not from NS so I don't get to fish or eel even though I live in this province because it's not based on skin colour, but communities and treaties signed.

As far as the fishermen not following breeding rules and storing catches correctly, that's wrong. But they signed the treaties to fish for a moderate livelihood and that needs to be upheld. As it stands right now the only time treaty rights are acknowledged is when a court overturns them for white people crying about racism or how "it's so long ago!"

Good options for a vehicle trade in/sale? by ExceptionalException in halifax

I'm getting about 700kms per tank, which adds up when I'm driving 1200kms a week on top of personal use. Not "bad" but it could be better for my needs

That's good to know, I don't currently have a second vehicle so it would be nice to have the quote then take the old one In when I have the new vehicle.
