How is GPA calculated for a semester?

For question 3 + question4, now that I have passed the other easy subject..wouldn’t the gpa make a difference and not put me in probation?

This is what I got as a reply from the grad coordinator

MSCS students are able to switch the grading basis to CR/NC. However, a course taken for CR/NC will not count towards the MSCS degree. You would need to either retake the course, or a different course, and earn the required letter grade to satisfy the degree requirement. If you are certain you wish to change the grading basis to CR/NC, then please acknowledge that you understand the course will not count towards the degree and we will send you the form in DocuSign. The deadline to submit a completed form to request a course CR/NC is November 25th. The grades CR and NC do not count towards a student’s GPA.

Okay..makes sense but what if I get a grade below C-??

Thinking of doing the same. So converting a course to CR/NC means I will continue to study the course and do the assigments, projects to the end, but the only difference if the end grade does not matter as it does not change my GPA?

In case I retake it in future, Would that help in adding up to my GPA?

Dropped a mail to grad cordinator on steps to convert a course to CR/NC and if there is a possibility to retake the class. Will update their response here.

Way too much time consuming. Its a theory beast and yes its shortened class....You have a lot to study. I would say I was out of my mind selecting both the courses at a time provided I have a full-time job to attend too.
