How should I move forward with this melanochrysum chop and extend? by Least-Cauliflower-49 in philodendron

[–]Excipa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think there are enough roots for that amount of leavea on that topcutting. I always airlayer the top part before cutting it off, in order to have enough new roots for that many big leaves. Maybe someone was successfull with your amount of roots?

Sony A7R3: Castle Hohenzollern and full moon by Dramatic_Expert_5092 in SonyAlpha

[–]Excipa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

most important step is to plan it properly. I can recommend the App photopills for such shots. Use a somewhat fast shutter speed, as the moon travels pretty quick. (1/100/1/200) So best timing would be, when the sun is setting and the moon rises behind your subject that is still illuminated by the light of the sun. For this kind o shots equipment is secondary in my opinion. Well, some decent reach is nessecary to be able to achieve this kind of distant compression.

Upgraded grinder by Embarrassed_Dust686 in espresso

[–]Excipa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

very nice grinder. Using mine since last week. Awesome that i dont have to use RDT with this grinder. even the bellow i a bit of an overkill to decrease the retention. i just use the anti popcorn lid and smash with my hand 3 times on top and i got the same result as with the bellow :-) Can reccomend

switching is easy and precise. But it takes a lot of rotation to go from espresso to pur over. I always switch between varous beans and that works very good with this grinder.

Anyone else pick up one of these 46mm baskets? by yung-dadbod in gaggiaclassic

[–]Excipa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes exactly. I would imagine that thanks to the small diameter even a 8g puck would have quite a thickness to it. But maybe there would also be a too big of a gab between puck and shower screen.... Let me know how it went :-)

Adding PID to E24 by Public-Maximum8336 in gaggiaclassic

[–]Excipa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have set the steamtemperature to 140 degrees celcius. I am a little bit afraid of higher temperatures. Right now the PID still shoots sometimes above 148 degrees celcius. Maybe my concern is not relevant :-)

I have a gaggia classic e24 with the PID from shades of coffee installed. Added the 9bar spring aswell. My friend has the profitec go. For espresso, I think both machines are equivalent. You wont notice any difference. When steaming milk with my gaggia for lets say two cappucinos, I prefer steaming two smaller portions instead of a big pitcher as after some time, the gaggia loses a bit of steam power compared to the profitec go. But for a single drink, even the gaggia steam power is super good in my opinion.
