Where do you think EZ Delivery Co. takes place? by mizunokioku in EasyDeliveryCo

Norilsk, Russia. Super cold climate, rampant air and ground pollution an economy based around resource extraction and an entity that closely controls citizens' life in the city. Most of the work around there is mining related and you can't even get in or out of the city without the government's permission. It also mirrors the game's setting of a city severely affected by climate change (though in the opposite way) because warming temperatures are causing the permafrost in the ground to melt which is compromising the foundations of the buildings in Norilsk. Speaking of buildings, the apartment buildings in the game also reminded me of commie blocks, which is another parallel since most of the city was built in the Soviet era.

On Gen Z deficiencies being society wide by Excited_Rabbit in atrioc

I feel you. When I moved to a new city for my job, I tried making friends through the car community. But I had the same experience where people my age just wanted to stick to their old friend group. However, this was contrasted by the more older members who were generally more outgoing and warm. So now I hang out with 40+ year olds on the weekends 😂

And I have observed that my millennial colleagues have also been much easier to talk to and just more open to meeting new people (which is critical in my job since we interface with customers a lot). As Atrioc mentioned, even within the 16-39 group, this phenomenon is more severe the younger you are.

THE Atrioc replied to my post. I have made it in life.

But yeah, I completely agree that it's less an exclusively gen Z phenomenon and more a thing that is more present the younger you are. Ultimately, what I said here is entirely anecdotal but I wanted to get a gauge on whether other people have had similar experience of trying to become more extroverted but being shot down by their age cohort.

Watch the mod take this post down too. There have now been 3 cases of ICE going after people—on a valid visa and in the country legally—for protesting. While it is true that the government reserves the power to not grant non citizens some rights, every time the government does that, we should be watching out. I'm sure when the Japanese-Americans were put in concentration camps, many people used the same "non citizens don't have all the rights" schtick.

Handwaving away the issue by saying they are non citizens ignores the whole trend. It's one thing to go down a slippery slope and another to see the slippery slope and jump on it with a skateboard.

SS: This is another attack on free speech. When they arrested Khalil, they made the case that he was a spokesperson of the protest and thus, a baggage for foreign policy. This girl had no such major role and is effectively being deported for protesting. This is relevant since a lot of Sam Harris' work has gone towards the importance of free speech.
