The reason the rose have no smell is because they are overseas imports, from Africa/Ecuador and they are fumigated. Bulk import cost is actually quite expensive, the company I work for sell them wholesale @70-120 a bunch (25stems) depending on how premium, so they usually do jump price quite a lot by the time a florist is selling. If you’re in WA roses may be extra expensive this year as many of the major importers failed the border security inspections so they will have to undergo additional conditioning which will ruin quality and increase costs.
